Free D23 Mickey Ears for Disneyland Guests
D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, formerly known as D23 Expo, is a days-long convention where Disney executives will share major upcoming news for the Disney corporation. Much of the news relates to changes in the theme parks, so many Disney fans always look forward to D23 to see what will be coming next. This year’s convention will take place from August 14 to August 16 at the Anaheim Convention Center and Honda Center in Anaheim, California.

The day before, August 13, Disneyland kicks off its D23 celebrations with D23 Day, a one-day event full of unique offerings and experiences for all guests, not just D23 members.
One such offering is the free D23 Mickey Ear Hat for guests. You can see a closer image of it below:
This ear hat will only be available on August 13. If you really want to get one, we recommend getting to the parks early to ensure that you can grab one before supplies run out. Disney has also run similar promotions in the past, such as giving out free ear hats for Disney+ Day.
The free Mickey ear hat is far from the only offering that Disneyland has available for D23 Day. There will be many new events and offerings at the parks for this celebration, like new food items, an extensive merchandise drop that features several collaborations and anniversary collections, rare character meet-and-greets, and more.

The Disney Legends Cavalcade is a highlight of D23 Day. It will occur at 1:30 PM along the typical Disneyland parade route. 23 characters will be featured, followed by the Disneyland Band, and a procession of select Disney Legends. Disney Legends are individuals who received this Hall of Fame award due to their impact on Disney’s legacy, whether that be through acting, music, or leadership.
One Disney Legend who was featured in last year’s event was Tony Baxter, a legendary Imagineer and former Senior Vice President of Creative Development for Walt Disney Imagineering. You can see his parade trolley below:
There is also the “Disney Princess: The Ultimate Concert Celebration” in Disney California Adventure, which brings together the voices of many iconic Disney Princesses for a show of fan-favorite songs. This concert will be held in Paradise Garden Park, with one showing at 8:30 PM and another at 9:45 PM, and will also air on The Wonderful World of Disney on ABC on August 16.
