One of Disney World’s Best Waterfront Bars With Fireworks Views Requires No Reservation

I’ve tried to get into this popular restaurant on a whim more times than I can count, and it almost never works. When it comes to being able to get a dining reservation, Disney World’s signature dining restaurants are tough to get, especially when you’re trying to make them around the time the fireworks go off. If you don’t have something booked 60 days out, you’re usually out of luck.

However, tucked inside this waterfront restaurant is a bar that doesn’t take reservations at all. It’s first-come, first-served, it pulls from the full menu of the restaurant itself, and on my recent visit, it turned into one of my favorite stops of the entire day. Let’s get into all the details of this bar and its incredible location. Mickey Visit brings you the latest Disney news and planning resources, including Disneyland’s decision to pause popular character dining experience and the news that Disney is selling iconic items of theme park history.

No Reservations Needed for this Disney World Resort Waterfront Bar

Narcoossee's Bar

Narcoossee’s is a signature dining location at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. It offers an elegant menu of land and sea items tucked inside a waterfront hideaway.

The first time I visited Narcoossee’s, I’d just come off the monorail from Magic Kingdom with no real plans for the evening, and I figured I’d explore the Grand Floridian. I strolled into Narcoossee’s and fully expected to get turned away. Instead, the host pointed me straight past the dining room to the bar, no dining reservation needed.

The bar itself is smaller than you’d think: less than a dozen seats. The entire space is wrapped in teal tile that feels more coastal cottage than stuffy hotel restaurant. And the tall ceilings make you feel like there’s more space than there really is.

I was impressed by that first visit.

The Drinks Do a Lot of Heavy Lifting

Narcoossee's drink

This is where the lounge earns its “waterfront bar” reputation, and not just because of the view.

I went with the Bee’s Knees, a gin-based drink with lemon juice and honey, and garnished with a honeycomb – something very unique to any Disney World bar. My wife went with The Grand Margarita, a very elevated take on a classic margarita. And I couldn’t help but notice that they have their own version of a crowd favorite espresso martini: the Salted Mascarpone Espresso Martini, made with Joffrey’s Coffee Italian espresso and Mascarpone-Disaronno Originale Liqueur foam. After seeing someone else order it, I regretted not ordering it myself.

The cocktail list at Narcoossee’s is quite inventive, and a lot of it was clearly built to be sipped slowly rather than just gulped down before the Magic Kingdom fireworks.

Narcoossee's food

Here’s the part people don’t always realize: While sitting at the Narcoossee’s bar, you’re not stuck with bar snacks.

Instead, you get the entire dinner menu, appetizers, seafood, steaks…all of it. I watched the couple next to us order the full surf and turf, lobster tail and filet mignon, and eat it at the bar. Pretty wild and awesome if you ask me!

We kept it lighter since we had another dinner reservation looming. The brisket and ricotta tortelloni hit home with every single bite. It’s a menu item I have to order every time I visit, and it never disappoints.

The Best Time to Walk Up

Narcoossee's dining

Timing matters here more than at almost any other resort bar on Disney World property.

Early evening, right around when the dining room opens for dinner, is your best shot at a seat without waiting. The bar fills in fast as it gets closer to the Magic Kingdom fireworks, since plenty of locals and resort guests treat this as their unofficial fireworks-viewing spot.

If your goal is specifically to catch Happily Ever After or the Electric Water Pageant from here, plan to grab your seat at least 45 minutes before showtime. The restaurant pipes in the fireworks music out to the water side of the building, and even from the bar you get a genuinely good sightline across Seven Seas Lagoon toward the castle.

Why the Narcoossee’s Bar Beats a Dining Reservation

Narcoossee's view

The thing I keep coming back to is that this bar solves the exact problem that makes Narcoossee’s frustrating in the first place.

You don’t need to plan 60 days ahead. You also don’t need to commit to a full multi-course dinner for two. Instead, you can show up with no plan at all, as I did, and still end up with excellent seafood, a tasty cocktail, and a front-row seat to one of the best views on Disney property.

Grand Floridian

Is it a replacement for the full Narcoossee’s dining experience if you’re celebrating something big? No, and I wouldn’t try to make it one. But as a low-commitment way to experience one of Disney World’s most stunning restaurants, the bar might honestly be the better move for most casual visits.
