Disneyland Cuts More Entertainment Offerings at Disney California Adventure

Disneyland just confirmed that there will be additional entertainment cutbacks for two Disney California Adventure shows as the height of summer at Disneyland draws closer.

Disneyland recently shared the closing date for the “Dr. Strange: Mysteries of the Mystic Arts” show at Avengers Campus later this month, and a Pixar Fest offering has closed months earlier than planned as Club Pixar will no longer be featuring the DJ and dancers. The announcement of these entertainment closures come after the recent vote for unionization of the Disneyland Entertainment Cast Members.

Now, there is news of even more adjustments for entertainment offerings at Disneyland as performance schedules for two Disney California Adventure shows will be cut down. Keep reading for more details!

Disneyland Cutting Back on More Entertainment Offerings

According to the Orange County Register, Disneyland will be cutting back on performances of Warriors of Wakanda: The Disciplines of the Dora Milaje and Citizens of Buena Vista Street in July by 20% or more. Both offerings are considered “Atmosphere Entertainment,” smaller shows that are typically offered multiple times per day.

Citizens of Buena Vista Street will not be offered on Thursdays and Fridays for most of July, and Warriors of Wakanda: The Disciplines of the Dora Milaje will not show on select Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays during the month.

The great Five and Dime Band atmospheric band that plays on Buena Vista Street is safe for now. We hope that Disney continues to see the value of this live music and entertainment as it is a key component of the Disneyland experience.

The Orange County Register reports that Disneyland officials said “Disney California Adventure continually evaluates entertainment offerings and makes adjustments,” so there could be additional changes to entertainment offerings in store for the coming months beyond what has already been shared.

We're especially curious about how any potential further changes would affect Avengers Campus, between the closure of the Dr. Strange show and now the Warriors of Wakanda: The Disciplines of the Dora Milaje show cutbacks.
