We recently received the major news that the Disneyland hotel ART shuttle system will soon be shutting down operations. Many have relied on this bus system, which has been in operation since the 90s, for transportation between Anaheim-area hotels, the parks, and other local venues.
Now, we have news of some changes going into effect before the official shutdown of the service at the end of next month. Keep reading for all details and how this may impact your trip. At Mickey Visit, we report on all of the latest Disney news, including a Disney California Adventure ride closure end date added to the refurbishment calendar, and an update on Disneyland’s princess breakfast at the Napa Rose.

ART Shuttle Changes Ahead of Shutdown
In our original report on the shutdown of the ART shuttle service, we shared that Anaheim Transportation Network (ATN) will conclude services on March 31, 2026.

The shuttle system includes about 19 routes, including fixed and on-demand routes, that connect the Disneyland Resort area to over 80 area hotels, the Anaheim Convention Center, and local attractions like the Honda Center and Angel Stadium. For nearly three decades, this has been a vital transportation system for Disneyland guests staying off-site, with affordable fares and multi-day pass options available.
Now, as the service is preparing to shut down soon, a few changes are already going into effect. As of February 7, routes 9 & 11 are operating as an all-day combined service. All destinations along the former routes 9 and 11 are continuing to be serviced via the Katella Ave. / Ball Rd. Line.
At the end of the day on March 1, the on-demand ART service will be discontinued. This includes all on-demand hotels, Anaheim Indoor Marketplace, Anaheim Packing District, Center Street Promenade, Golden Road/ Karl Strauss, Outlets at Orange, and stops not on a fixed route. All ART fixed routes continue until March 31, when the service officially shuts down.
The shutdown of this transportation service will have an impact on the Toy Story Parking area, as shuttles that take guests from this lot to the resort are operated by the Anaheim Transportation Network.
Disneyland Officials shared with us that there will be continued shuttle service from the Toy Story Parking Area even after the ART Shuttle shut down. We do not yet have the details on the shuttle change.
When the ART service concludes, we expect to see a rise in rideshare usage for transportation between area hotels and the parks. While the cost of rideshare for a one-way ride is somewhat comparable to the ART shuttle, it’s a less convenient option for bigger groups or guests who are using strollers or ECVs.
While the current rideshare area is rather small to accommodate the demand, there is a new transportation hub starting construction this fall that will feature a hopefully improved rideshare area. See our guide to Uber/Lyft at Disneyland. The shutdown of the service is also an especially good reason to choose a hotel within comfortable walking distance of Disneyland.

There are also talks of Anaheim considering a gondola system to connect Anaheim’s major tourist hubs, including the Anaheim Resort District and the Platinum Triangle, though this project would be a very long way off if made a reality.
