Walt Disney World Tools Overview

Disney World Lightning Lane

There are a few different tools and services offered at the Walt Disney World Resort that will help to maximize your time in Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and Disney Springs and make the most of your park experience. Much of the Disney World experience revolves around using the My Disney Experience app, which is where you can access the paid line-skipping service, a convenient mobile ordering system for food pickup, and Disney World’s photography service.

Our overview of these Walt Disney World tools will direct you to our pages on each of these services and how to use them.

The My Disney Experience app is a key resource for your park day. This app on your phone is where you’ll access Walt Disney World’s Lightning Lane Multi Pass, mobile ordering, and your Disney PhotoPass photos. It also includes helpful information like ride wait times and scheduled character appearances. See more details about the My Disney Experience app here:

Lightning Lanes are separate lines that give you access to shorter lines separate from the standby queue. You can access Lightning Lanes for popular attractions through the paid service Lightning Lane Multi Pass or the paid premium service Lightning Lane Premier Pass, or you can purchase Lightning Lane Single Pass entry individually for the most in-demand attractions. See details on Lightning Lanes here:

MagicBands are colorful, waterproof wristbands that resembles a bracelet or watch. These secure devices are a Disney guest’s “all in one” for accessing plans and vacation choices while in the parks and at the resort hotels. Guests can use their bands to easily touch to a sensor which is called a touch point. You can use MagicBands to scan in for Lightning Lanes, connecting photos to the app, and charging purchases if you’re a Disney resort hotel guest.

Mobile ordering is available at most Walt Disney World counter-service restaurants. This is a great option for these Walt Disney World restaurants. Using this service, you can place your order and choose a specific window for pickup. You can see our Mickey Visit ranking of the best Walt Disney World restaurants here. See details about mobile ordering here:

Through Walt Disney World’s PhotoPass service, you can get high-quality photos taken by Disney PhotoPass photographers stationed throughout the park and purchase them through a service called Memory Maker. You can see more details about Walt Disney World’s PhotoPass and Memory Maker here:
