Disney World’s Hugely Popular New Attraction Has Unique Setup Some May Not Expect

The popular preschool character Bluey has instantly turned a once-sleepy area of Florida’s Walt Disney World into a must-see attraction for many families with young kids. The experience, located at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, leans into Walt Disney Imagineering’s principle of “leaving it better than you found it” when changing old attractions. For guests preparing to see Bluey, the prolonged process of accessing this attraction may present some questions. For longtime Disney fans, Bluey’s arrival likewise prompts questions about the long-term intentions of this corner of Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Bluey also has a new show at Disneyland in California.

We experienced the new Bluey attraction firsthand at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and we have full details on how to access this unique space and how much character interaction to expect. We also speculate how long this attraction may stick around. Mickey Visit brings you the latest Disney news and planning resources, including a great Disney World restaurant off the beaten path and Disney’s plans to change classic rides to draw new visitors.

Where to Find Bluey at Disney World

Bluey debuted at Disney’s Animal Kingdom in Walt Disney World in May 2026 as part of a new experience formally titled “Bluey’s Wild World at Conservation Station”.

The main attraction here is a show starring Bluey and Bingo. Rather than an ongoing dance zone where guests come and go freely, this is a more structured program. However, it’s not quite on the same large scale as most Disney World shows. It’s something in between those two models, and we explain how this works below.

There is also no formal meet and greet with Bluey and Bingo in the style of Disney’s typical photo-and-autograph character greeting routine. The show is the only way to see the characters.

Wildlife Express train

Unique among Disney World attractions, guests cannot simply walk to Bluey’s Wild World at Conservation Station. The only way to get there is by riding a train. We dive into these details below.

Beyond the show, guests can also watch medical professionals perform real procedures on the park’s animals from behind glass. Outside, there is also a habitat called Jumping Junction, home to kangaroos and wallabies, representing Bluey’s Australian home.

This assortment may seem random, but it’s a byproduct of how this corner of Disney’s Animal Kingdom has been set up for decades. Conservation Station opened with Disney’s Animal Kingdom in 1998 as a hub for learning about the park’s medical care for its animal residents. These facilities remain in place, with the Bluey activations and theming happening on top of, and in some cases in replacement of, what was already here.

From 2000 through early 2026, the area where Conservation Station resided was called Rafiki’s Planet Watch. With Bluey’s arrival, all of the Rafiki theming has been dropped. The overall land is now called Bluey’s Wild World at Conservation Station.

What to Expect from the Line and Wait Time for Bluey

Wildlife Express line crowd

The only way to visit Bluey’s Wild World at Conservation Station is by riding the Wildlife Express Train. Guests can access the train near Kilimanjaro Safaris, in the Africa section of Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Though the crowd in the above photo looks big, and there are definitely many more guests visiting this part of the park now that Bluey is here, the train’s high capacity keeps wait times low. We waited about 10 minutes to ride the train.

Disney previously required guests to obtain a virtual queue reservation to ride the Wildlife Express Train and visit Bluey’s Wild World. The virtual queue is no longer required. It was only in place for the attraction’s first few days, and a standby line is now available. Guests can walk up and join the line whenever they choose, no reservation required.

However, keep in mind that Bluey’s Wild World closes at 3:45 PM daily, so if this is a priority for you, don’t wait until the end of the day.

Once you’ve had your fill of Bluey’s Wild World, you’ll need to take the Wildlife Express Train back to Africa to access the rest of the park again.

Animal signs

The train ride aboard the Wildlife Express is about five minutes. Conservationist and Dancing With the Stars winner Robert Irwin recorded a new narration for the journey that debuted with Bluey’s arrival. First-time guests may be surprised that the train passes by back-of-house facilities in full view, atypical of Disney’s usual standards. This is in keeping with Conservation Station’s original intention of being a peek behind the curtain at the real-life care of the park’s animals, but it admittedly feels mismatched with the new layer of Bluey in this equation.

Conservation Station sign

Once the train arrives at Bluey’s Wild World, you’ll walk along a short trail before arriving at the main Conservation Station facility. From here, you have your choice of visiting the Jumping Junction animal habitat or the dance party show.

Shows run continuously, and seeing the show requires waiting in another line that begins outside of Conservation Station and meanders inside. During our visit, the wait time was 25 minutes, and we waited most of that time inside.

Conservation Station entrance

It’s here that the effects of converting a preexisting space into a new attraction are most evident. Conservation Station was not built as an entertainment venue, so the dance party show takes place in what feels like the lobby of a museum rather than a custom-built theater.

Dance party area

The way the queue is set up, some parts of the line can see the current party happening before they reach their turn. Whether this is a pro or con is subjective. On the one hand, kids might enjoy basically seeing the show twice. On the other hand, it may test their patience.

Alternatively, if you only want to see the medical procedures and exhibits inside, you can do that without waiting in the Bluey line. Since the inside is an open floor plan, you’ll still be able to see the Bluey action at a far distance, so this may be a nice compromise for young Bluey fans who are afraid of costumed characters.

The Dance Party and “Meeting” Bluey and Bingo

Bingo and Bluey characters

About 100 people go into the dance party section at a time. A live cast member with a microphone stands on a small platform, and Bluey and Bingo roam the crowd.

The 14-minute dance party is engaging and has specific activities, like tossing a ball in the air through the audience.

There are no seats, and guests can stand wherever they’d like. Most kids stand near the front. As Bluey and Bingo move around, guests are allowed to gently approach them for interactions. Again, keep in mind there is no structured character greeting queue.

Initially, we were skeptical of the queueing process. Why not double the audience capacity and get people through the line faster instead of watching the show once from a distance and again when it’s your “turn”? However, we quickly saw how the limited capacity allows most guests to get quality moments with Bluey. If having a formal meet and greet wasn’t feasible, this seems like a fun solution.

New Bluey Food in Animal Kingdom

Fairy Bread Cake

Specialty food items celebrate Bluey’s arrival at Disney’s Animal Kingdom:

  • Fairy Bread Cake (Pizzafari) – vanilla birthday cake dipped in white chocolate and rainbow sprinkles with raspberry dipping sauce
  • Wackadoo Fruit Freeze (Pizzafari) – frozen Simply Fruit Punch garnished with fruit salad
  • Bluey’s Berry Lemonade (Pizzafari and Eight Spoon Café) – frozen Minute Maid Lemonade blended with flavors of blueberry, blackberry, and raspberry
  • Pretzel’s Pretzels (Isle of Java) – soft mini pretzels with homemade cheese and blueberry-mustard sauces

Note that none of these are located within Bluey’s Wild World, so purchasing them does not require a ride on the Wildlife Express Train.

How Long Will Bluey be at Animal Kingdom?

Map

Bluey’s Wild World at Conservation Station opened in tandem with the limited-time Cool KIDS’ SUMMER campaign, but the attraction will remain at Disney’s Animal Kingdom after Cool KIDS’ SUMMER is over. For all intents and purposes, guests should think of Bluey’s Wild World as a permanent attraction, or at least, as “permanent” as an attraction can be in a Disney theme park.

Based on Disney’s history, attractions based on TV shows tend not to have as much longevity as those based on movies. Once the TV show stops actively producing new episodes, the attraction in question may stick around for a few more years before being phased out entirely or adapted into a refreshed experience based on a newer TV property.

A prime example of this is the World Showcase Adventure mobile game at EPCOT, which has cycled through Kim Possible, Phineas and Ferb, and DuckTales as its subjects within its 17-year existence. Similarly, the soundstage theater at Disney’s Hollywood Studios has continually swapped in the latest Disney Jr. shows every few years for over two decades, with the current offering being Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live!, which opened in May 2026.

Bingo character

The big question for Conservation Station is, does the Bluey franchise have staying power? Is its popularity at the present moment a passing fad, or will it become the next Sesame Street and endure for generations? If Bluey remains popular, can Conservation Station meet that demand? If Bluey’s ratings wane, would Disney opt for refreshing Conservation Station yet again, or would the company bulldoze the entire land for something new? Of course, the park would then need a new animal hospital somewhere on site.

We saw the latter approach in play when Donald’s Dino-Bash! debuted in 2018 as a “permanent” overlay of DinoLand, U.S.A. The new layer of that area of Disney’s Animal Kingdom, which featured a new storyline and character greetings, remained in place until 2026, when Disney closed DinoLand altogether to build the upcoming Tropical Americas land.

Regardless, Disney is currently all in on Bluey, with Bluey: The Movie releasing in theaters on August 6, 2027. Bluey’s Wild World is an advantageous “free” promotion for the film, and a prime example of Disney’s synergy capabilities in motion.
