Most guests that visit Walt Disney World for the first time may not realize the wide variety of golfing options at the resort. There are four different golf courses plus options for Disney themed mini golf, golf lessons, and the chance to play FootGolf!
The Disney Golf Courses are all considered championship golf courses and were part of the PGA Tour in past years and are run by Arnold Palmer Golf Management. Golf is available to the general public and resort guests. In fact, these golf courses are extremely popular with Orlando locals since these golf courses are so large and surrounded by nature rather than landlocked by neighborhoods.

I visit Walt Disney World frequently and recently had the experience to tour the golf courses at Walt Disney World and receive golf instruction from a PGA professional.

Golfing at Disney World
There are four golf courses at Walt Disney World with three of these courses accessible in the same location. These courses include:
Disney's Oak Trail Golf Course
The Oak Trail Golf Course is the perfect golfing option for family as this 9-hole course features deep canals and ponds plus features junior tees for younger golfers. This course is walking only, no golf carts needed.
Disney's Magnolia Golf Course
Designed in classic Tour style, this championship course is the longest of the Walt Disney World Resort golf courses and features 18-holes.
Disney's Palm Golf Course
This 18-hole championship course features shimmering lakes, tropical sands, palm trees and sloping greens. This course also includes 9 holes with water hazards and 59 bunkers providing extra challenges.
These three golf courses are all accessed in the same location. This location also features a mini golf section for golfers to practice their putting skills.
Disney's Lake Buena Vista Golf Course
The Lake Buena Vista course is a classic country-club style course and has hosted the PGA Tour, the LPGA Tour, and USGA events. This golf course is separate from the other three and is located near Disney Springs.
Golf rates at Walt Disney World vary depending on the time of year. Discount rates are available for Florida residents, Annual Passholders, DVC members, and more. See the full pricing percentages and book your tee time on the Walt Disney World golf website.
Golf Lessons at Walt Disney World
Golf lessons are available for all ages with staff consisting of PGA Professionals. There are individual and group lessons available which include:
- 45-minute lessons
- 1/2 & full day golf schools
- Video analysis
- Group lessons
- On course playing lessons
There are also golf clinics offered four times a week at Disney's Lake Buena Vista golf facility are available for all skill levels for just $20 for 60 minutes. Depending on how busy these clinics are, you may end up being the only one there which turns this golf clinic into a private lesson at a lower cost! Plus, guests can also take advantage of Junior Golf clinics designed for ages 7 through 17.
We had the opportunity to experience one of these golf clinic lessons and nearly everyone in our group were beginners. Our PGA Professional instructor started with the basics and showed us how to properly grip the golf club and practice swinging. This golf instruction was perfect for beginners but could easily be modified for higher skill levels. This was a great introduction to golfing and one that my teenager really enjoyed. The golf instructors were extremely kind and patient (on par with that Disney experience!) and worked well with all ages.
Book golf instruction online and find out rates on the Walt Disney World golf website.
What Makes Disney Golfing Unique
Golfing at Walt Disney World is incredibly popular since the three main golf courses are not landlocked by neighborhoods like most golf courses in Florida. These golf courses are surrounded by natural areas making for a truly scenic golfing experience. During our recent visit to the Disney golf courses, we spotted turkeys wandering around near the main merchandise building!
Disney's Magnolia Golf Course is a prime example of this as its named for its large magnolia trees and the landscape it shares with herons, great egrets, alligators and deer. Guests may see wildlife during their experience. In fact, you can even get a wildlife identification card with your score card to track any wildlife you may see.
Disney’s Magnolia, Disney’s Palm, Disney’s Lake Buena Vista and Disney’s Oak Trail golf courses are all certified as Audubon International Cooperative Sanctuaries. Disney is dedicated to fostering and preserving the wildlife and habitat at all of their facilities.
You also get the full Disney experience at the golf courses with high levels of quality, customer service, and a bit of Disney magic. Guests can find Disney-character themed Refreshment carts rotating around the courses with a selection of food and beverages, including Mickey themed treats.
And no experience at Walt Disney World would be complete without cool Disney merchandise. There is a full merchandise store at the golf courses featuring plenty of themed Disney golfing attire, equipment, and more.
Disney World Mini Golf
Walt Disney World has two themed mini golf locations. This is mini golf that is done Disney style with full immersive Disney theming and is a fun add on experience for families to enjoy. Guests can make reservations by calling (407) WDW-PLAY or booking online.
Mini Golf Disney World Pricing
$19 per Adult, $12 per Child (Ages 3–9)
Winter Summerland Miniature Golf
This mini golf location is located near Disney's Blizzard Beach water park and offers two themed courses: The Summer Course and The Winter Course.
The story of this mini golf experience is that Santa himself designed it! He decided to build a vacation destination for his off duty elves- a Winter Summerland. He decided to split the course into two different 18-hole experiences after Summer and Winter.
The Summer Course
The Summer Course features theming with surfboards, sandcastles, and ornaments hanging from palm trees. Plus watch out for melting snowman and a sleeping Santa in the sand.
The Winter Course
The Winter Course features “Squirty the Snowman”- a jolly, happy soul that sprays water at golfers as golf balls pass between him. Other obstacles include giant peppermints, hockey sticks, and a melting castle.
Fantasia Gardens and Fairways Miniature Golf
This mini golf location is near the Disney Swan and Dolphin Hotel and Hollywood Studios theme park.
Fantasia Gardens features whimsical scenes of tutu-clad hippos, broomsticks, and pirouetting ostriches- inspired by Disney's Fantasia film. This golf course resembles a traditional golf course on a miniature scale with sand traps, bunkers, water hazards, and more.
This is a large mini golf course where par-3 and par-5 holes range in length from 63 to 109 feet long.
FootGolf at Disney's Oak Trail
All ages can enjoy this popular sport that combines soccer with traditional golf! FootGolf at Walt Disney World includes a course that looks just like a regular golf course except all the holes are 21 inches in diameter and built for soccer balls.
FootGolf combines the precision of golf with the coordination of soccer. The 9-hole FootGolf course is certified by the American FootGolf League (AFGL), the governing body for the game in the United States.
FootGolf is available at Disney's Oak Trail Golf Course. When played in groups of four, 9 holes of FootGolf should take approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, much like that of 9 holes of traditional golf.
FootGolf is available every Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday afternoons in the Fall and Winter seasons beginning at 3:00 P.M. and after 4:00 P.M. during the Spring and Summer seasons.
FootGolf Disney World Pricing
Pricing for FootGolf varies throughout the year with the cost for adults ranging from $25 to $35 per person. Kids under 18 years of age receive 25% off. Guests can make reservations up to 30 days in advance on the Walt Disney World FootGolf website.
This is a great hidden gem to discover at Walt Disney World whether you are interested in regular golf, themed Disney mini golf or exploring the popular FootGolf.
