The Disney Treasure is the newest Disney Cruise Line ship to join the Disney Cruise Line and is considered the “sister ship” to the popular Disney Wish. The Disney Wish is the other most recent addition to Disney's fleet of ships and the Disney Treasure is making similar strides in offering the best entertainment for guests to enjoy.

We have all the details on the shows coming to the ship, plus news just shared today about the newest show coming to the Disney Treasure.

Disney Cruise Line Broadway Quality Shows

Entertainment on the Disney Cruise Line is often compared to the quality of a Broadway show with the live stage performances that take place throughout the cruise. The Disney Treasure will feature two familiar classic stage shows beloved on other Disney Cruise ships but will also debut a brand new show!

Let's talk through all thee details on this new Broadway-style show plus what other quality Disney entertainment can be found on the Disney Treasure when it sets sail in 2024.

Walt Disney Theatre

All three live stage performances take place inside the Walt Disney Theatre onboard the Disney Treasure. This “show palace” will come alive with these performances as guests get to enjoy Broadway-caliber performances during their cruise. These performances will likely take place in the evenings ensuring all guests can experience their favorite stage show.

As you can see from the photo above, the Walt Disney Theatre is just like a typical theatre of the arts which makes this experience even more special.

Beauty and the Beast Stage Show

The Disney Treasure will feature the popular Beauty and the Beast stage show inspired by the live-action Beauty and the Beast Disney film. This popular show is part of the already impressive lineup of Broadway-caliber stage productions on the Disney Cruise Line ships and is currently aboard the Disney Dream.

The Beauty and the Beast stage show holds true to the original as it focuses on the story of Belle and the Beast including favorite songs along with the two songs written by Alan Menken and Tim Rice for the reimagined film. This live production includes innovative puppetry, cutting-edge theatrical design, and breakthrough story-telling techniques. The show is a nice blend of tributes to original animated classic along with the incorporation of new elements from the live-action that guests will love.

Seas the Adventure Show

Seas the Adventure is the live stage performance playing on the Disney Treasure which is a shared performance with the Disney Wish.

The musical performance focuses on an adventure with Goofy steering the ship to encounter popular Disney characters and fan favorites. Highlights include Princess Tiana performing her song “Almost There” and Crush and Squirt from Finding Nemo showing Goofy how to “Go with the Flow” in a rendition of the song from the musical live adaptation from Animal Kingdom. There will also be an original arrangement of Disney heroines that is exclusive to the show as Elsa, Moana, and Merida perform a powerful medley of “Into the Unknown,” “How Far I’ll Go” and “Touch the Sky.”

This show is typically played on the first night aboard the Disney Wish as a way to send guests off with the ultimate Disney “kiss goodnight” as they start their Disney Cruise. I imagine we'll see a similar sendoff aboard the Disney Treasure.

New Stage Show Coming to Disney Treasure

Disney has announced that there will also be a brand new third show created just for the Disney Treasure! In December 2024, the brand-new Broadway-style production will be called “Disney The Tale of Moana.” This new Moana show is exclusive to the Disney Treasure and will tell the story of Moana's adventure to save her island and restore the heart of Te Fiti. This new show will feature favorite characters like Gramma Tala, Maui and Tamatoa on the stage plus favorite songs from the film's iconic soundtrack.

The new Moana show will feature towering puppets by the puppet designers who worked on Disney’s Tony Award-winning musical “The Lion King” on Broadway. Te Kā will be a puppet of a scale Disney Cruise Line has never before produced. This same giant Te Kā puppet will transform into the gentle island goddess of Te Fiti once Moana restores her heart. Moana and Maui will perform “Warrior Face” along with other classic favorites from the soundtrack like “You’re Welcome,” “We Know The Way” and “How Far I’ll Go.” The music of the show also includes a mix of languages including Tuvaluan, Tokelauan, and Samoan.

The set design of Motunui will be inspired by the cultures of the Pacific Islands and the spirit of Gramma Tala will be the narrator throughout the show. The show sounds breathtaking, especially the song “How Far I'll Go,” with the stage demonstrating Moana's Journey with stars overhead, and a glowing manta ray to symbolize the spirit of Gramma Tala.

A new stage production is exciting for any new Disney Cruise Line ship and will prompt guests to begin researching their early 2024 itineraries and book their cruise.
