Earlier this year in January, Country Bear Jamboree closed for a reimagining that would transform the show into “Country Bear Musical Jamboree,” and we are now quickly approaching its reopening date. The bears will be singing reinterpreted Disney tunes in a variety of country genres like Americana, bluegrass, pop-country, rockabilly, and more. The show will feature favorite Disney songs like “A Whole New World” from Aladdin and “Try Everything” from Zootopia.
Ahead of the show's opening date on July 17, Disney has shared a look at the bears in the show as well as the backstory of each of the characters. In these photos, fans can get a look at the reimagined costumes for the bears before they see the show with their own eyes next week in Grizzly Hall.

When the reimagining of the show was first announced at Destination D23, Disney shared that the show would still maintain its fun tone and feature fan-favorite characters like Trixie, Big Al, and others. Now, we can see the reimagined version of these characters and their new looks!
After Ursus H. Bear established Grizzly Hall in 1898, “where the honey tycoon-turned-impresario invited tuneful bruins to present zany and captivating performances,” his grandson Henry later took over as the “master of bear-emonies.” Henry “helped develop the current show and co-wrote the opening song with the Five Bear Rugs.” See a look at Henry below!
The Five Bear Rugs feature Zeke and Zeb and Ted and Fred and a bear named Tennessee!
Disney also shared a closer look at Zeb's son Oscar holding a Big Al plush.
Trixie also returns as one of the Country Bears' most veteran performers. Disney shares that “after trying everything, she eventually found her niche for performing. Now fans can find her singing away with triplets Bunny, Bubbles and Beulah.” See a look at Trixie in her new outfit below! Trixie's character and the song she sings, “Try Everything,” has been heavily featured in the weeks leading up to the show's reopening.
Next up is Bunny, Bubbles, and Beulah, originally known as The Sun Bonnets. Disney shares that “these girls recently turned in their bonnets for Stetsons when they began singing with Trixie around the world, including a sold-out engagement at Royal Ursa Hall. ” We previously got a look at their reimagined pink costumes, which are so cute!
Teddi Barra is known as “The Jewel of the Dakotas,” whose “rise in show biz was meteoric after being discovered in an ice cream parlor.” See a look at Teddi Barra on her swing below!
Wendell “was a frustrated basketball, baseball and football player until Henry invited him to try carrying a tune, and he’s been part of the Country Bears gang ever since.” Now, Wendell is in the show singing a love song with Teddi, “much to the dismay of his old friend Henry.”
Ernest the Dude is “one of the best-dressed bears guests will see at Grizzly Hall – he brings his entire wardrobe wherever he goes.” To be precise, he has “17 trunks filled with 30 coats, 40 slacks, 60 shirts, 20 hats and a pair and a half of underwear.” See his outfit below that looks like it takes inspiration from Bert from Mary Poppins.
Terrence, aka Shaker, “was once a famous theater star until a fall from the balcony in ‘Romeo and Juliet' brought the house down – literally.” Since then, he has traded in his acting career for one in music and “created a signature dance move that he’s used ever since.” Disney assures us that “despite having a face only a Mama Bear could love – and being perpetually single – he’s ready to launch his film career. ”

Romeo McGrowl is starting a new chapter as he “is ready to enter his next era of singing rockabilly.” This character's name was changed as it previously included a derogatory term. See his reimagined look below!
Below, you can see a look at the piano-playing Gomer. Disney shares that “having been classically trained since he was a cub, Gomer’s favorite composition before switching to country and western music was ‘Night on Bear Mountain.'”
Last, but not least, we have Big Al! Al has been playing the guitar since he was a child. Disney shares that “he was even the resident bard and balladeer in the swamp before Disney World was built. Coming off his 25th Farewell Tour in cities like Paris (Texas), Hollywood (Florida) and London (Ohio), Big Al is a true legend. ” Here's a look at Big Al below!

I didn’t know “Liver Lips” was a derogatory word. Where does all this “derogatory ” decision come from and who decides? Never thought about it, never heard anyone say anything about it until this article, saying his name was derogatory.
