Disney Makes Change to Food Mobile Ordering System to Improve Ease of Use

Disney has just made a change to both the Disneyland app and the Walt Disney World My Disney Experience app to make mobile ordering easier for guests!

Mobile ordering is an essential part of any Disney trip if you want to avoid long wait times for food. Mobile ordering is available at participating quick-service restaurants across the parks and allows you to conveniently place an order and choose a return window when you can pick up your meal.

We will take you through the current mobile ordering process and what has changed on the apps!

Mobile Ordering Change to Disney Apps

First, you'll go to the app and select the food location you'd like to pick up at. Below, you can see us ordering from one of our favorite dining locations in San Fransokyo Square with recently added new food items. We love the foods seen below and highly recommend them! You can read our guide to all San Fransokyo food for more details on our favorite items.

See this first step below, where you'll have the option to read the menu and select an arrival window for your order.

Next, you'll select the menu items you'd like to add. You'll have the option to choose the quantity of the item with the option to add items to your order at the bottom.

Once you add your items and go to review them, this is where the change to the mobile ordering process takes place. Before, you would see your items listed like this below:

Note the above image is from a couple of iterations ago, but it illustrates the change.

Now, this step of the process allows you more flexibility to modify your items. You can modify your order and change the quantity of the items from this menu here, and you'll also see photos for each of the foods you are ordering. This is a positive change to allow for easier changes and additions when wrapping up an order.

Finally, you'll place your order and see the below screen prompting you to wait for your arrival window. In this screen, you'll have the option to cancel your order or change your arrival window.

This is a small change to the mobile ordering system but one that makes it more convenient for guests to navigate, as now you can more easily review and modify if needed the items that you have added in this step of the mobile ordering process.

Note that there is still no way to change an order once it has already been submitted. We would really love to see the option to modify an order once submitted or even slightly change it if there's something to adjust, like adding a fountain drink at the last minute for example.
