Disney just released the third video in their Youtube series called “We Call it Imagineering”. These videos take viewers behind the scenes at Walt Disney Imagineering, the group responsible for all new theme park attractions and experiences, and focuses in on a specific discipline there.
The first two episodes of the series focused on Audio-Animatronics and Sound/Music. In addition to focusing on different disciplines, they also feature some of the new projects that are being worked on right now. In those first two videos they featured aspects of Tiana's Bayou Adventure.
Today there's a new episode focused on the ride vehicles team that also features new looks at the news that was released this weekend at SXSW around the new Cars attraction at Magic Kingdom, new Monsters Inc Roller Coaster, and the two new Avengers Campus additions coming to Disneyland.
Highlights of the New We Call it Imagineering Episode
The highlight of the new “We Call it Imagineering” episode is the amount of behind-the-scenes footage of new attractions coming and attractions already running at the theme parks.
There were multiple times where I stopped and thought – wow I have never seen this angle or view shared by Disney before. Specifically I found it really cool to see the below area of the Haunted Mansion Doom Buggy Omnimovers ride system and the Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run cabins. There was also a nice interview with Disney Legend Bob Gurr who designed many of the first ride systems for Disney after being hired by Walt Disney.

In addition to specific mentions within the video of new attractions, there was also footage of one new attraction coming to Avengers Campus that was not called out by name.
The new main Avengers Campus attraction that will feature a battle with King Thanos ride vehicle is shown here along with a look at how some of the projection screens will interact with the ride vehicle.
The new Monsters Inc Roller Coaster, new Cars attraction, and new Avengers Campus Stark Flight Lab are all called out in the video with specific sections looking at their new additions. Above is the look at the new Tony Stark jetpack ride arm.
The last “We Call it Imagineering” video was about 10 months ago. In that time we've heard from a number of readers excited for another one of these. We agree that anytime Disney shares behind-the-scenes it's a very special opportunity to learn more about the parks.
I would highly recommend checking out both the other two videos released if you haven't seen them yet and also be sure to watch “The Imagineering Story” on Disney Plus, which is the ultimate look behind-the-scenes at the history and story of this organization and the history of the Disney theme parks.
