A great way to save money on Disneyland, Walt Disney World, or Disney Cruise Line vacations is to look into discount Disney gift cards. These gift cards can be applied to the cost of your trip, including hotels, tickets, food purchases, and more. If you are buying something from Disney, you are able to use these gift cards.
Previously, we reported on a recent Disney gift card sale at Sam’s Club. Now, there is a similar big deal available from another top retailer. This retailer does not have a membership fee gating the offering. At Mickey Visit, we bring you the latest Disney news, including coverage of new rides and popcorn buckets. Don’t miss the Universal Orlando Black Friday 2025 deals, Disney World Black Friday 2025 deals, Universal Studios Hollywood Black Friday 2025 deals, and the Disneyland Black Friday 2025 sale.

New Big Disney Gift Card Discount Just Released
Disney recently ran a gift card discount promotion at Sam’s Club that offered up to 10% off your gift card purchase. Members could purchase $200 Disney digital gift cards for $180. There was a limit of four per membership. Readers reported that the sale, which was scheduled to run from November 7 – November 9, actually ended early because they sold out of the discounted gift cards.

This 10% off promotion is a great deal to provide real savings on your Disney dollars. Generally, all gift card discounts have limits on the amount that you can purchase, so it’s worthwhile to keep an eye out for all these sales. Now, Target is offering a similar savings and right now it appears to be an even better deal because they don’t appear to be enforcing the quantity limit for those purchasing right now.
This is part of an early Black Friday sale offering. This period of the year brings discounts on gift cards from many different retailers. Now is an important time to keep an eye out on savings for gift cards and other Disney experiences. We just shared an early Black Friday deal on tickets and hotels.

Target Disney Gift Card Savings

When you purchase $100 in gift cards from Target, you’ll get $10 in Target credit. This savings applies to Disney gift cards as well as hundreds of other retailers that Target sells gift cards to.
Other retailers beyond Disney include McDonald’s, Apple, Xbox, Hulu, Chipotle, and Netflix. They also offer a Disney Plus discount as you can see above. Make sure that when you purchase your Disney gift card, you are NOT purchasing the Disney Plus gift card. That card is only available for use in purchasing the Disney Plus streaming service. Interestingly, the Disney gift card can actually be used to purchase a Disney Plus subscription so there is no reason for the specific gift card to exist other than additional marketing for the streaming service in the super markets (this is likely the reason).
Here’s how the Disney gift card is described on the Target website: “One card. A world of possibilities! Use a Disney Gift Card at Disney destinations nationwide for practically all things Disney to shop, dine, stay and play! Redeem at the Walt Disney World® Resort, Disneyland® Resort, Disney Cruise Line, Disney Store locations in the U.S., DisneyStore.com and beyond! Visit DisneyGiftCard.com to learn more. Use for practically everything Disney – from Theme Park tickets to Mickey Mouse merchandise. Redeem at Disney Parks and Disney Store US locations, DisneyStore.com and more!”
Last year, there was a story that went viral across social media of a family purchasing a huge stack of Disney Plus gift cards for their vacation. I believe that Disney finally got in touch with them and helped sort out the situation, but it was a huge headache and one that you need to avoid. I don’t know whether it’s worse to show up with Disney Plus gift cards or Disneyland tickets when walking up to the gate at Walt Disney World.
This gift card deal is active now and is slated to run through November 22, 2025, though it could end sooner like the Sam’s Club deal. This discount is valid in store and online. The offer is supposed to only be good for one purchase per Target Circle account. However, we are seeing reports that currently this gift card deal is not being limited to one per person within the system, and that people are using this gift card discount multiple times.
This unlimited discount ability is not what is listed in the terms and conditions of the website, but it is currently the reality. Target will likely put a stop to this sooner rather than later, but in the meantime, it is to your benefit to move quickly on this discount.
Additional Savings on Target Disney Gift Cards
At Target, you can save 5% on Target Disney Gift Cards if you purchase with a Target Circle Card. With a Target Circle Card, you can enjoy benefits like 5% off purchases in-store and online at Target, free 2-day shipping on hundreds of thousands of items at Target.com, an extra 30 days for returns, and more.
This discount adds to the existing 10% off discount that is part of this sale so Target Circle Card members get 15% off in this instance. We dive more into the benefit of this Target card for gift card discounts.
