Walt Disney World has revealed a number of different changes to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party for the 2026 season. This ticketed Halloween party takes place throughout August to October at Magic Kingdom, offering trick-or-treating, special entertainment like Halloween fireworks and a parade, character interactions, and more.
Let’s get into all the changes for this year’s event, including the new entertainment, character changes, and more. Mickey Visit brings you the latest Disney news and planning resources, including the release date for the upcoming Disney World Hallmark movie and the newest perks for Disney+ subscribers.
1. Disney Jr. Dance Party Replaced with Descendants
New this year, Disney is swapping out Disney Junior Jam for Destination DescenDANCE Party at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café with a “spirited celebration with music and dance moves inspired by the movies.”

This is not the first time Destination DescenDANCE has been offered at the event, as it was last seen in 2024. This year won’t include a large focus on Disney Junior characters, which is a change from last year’s event.
2. New Halloween Food Items

This year will include brand new Halloween-themed food items for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. Some of the new items this year include a Hades Cake Pop, Phantom Pecan-Caramel Cheesecake, a Headless Horseman Treat, and Queen of Hearts Tart. There is also a new Fang-tastic Garlic Butter Burger.

3. Pirates of the Caribbean New Entertainment
New this year is Captain Jack’s Buccaneer Bash in Adventureland! Captain Jack Sparrow will lead a “a swashbuckling series of pirate antics.” The past few years, Adventureland has offered the spirited pirate band “Rusty Cutlass,” and it sounds like they’ve just been incorporated into this entertainment offering.

4. Stitch Themed Dance Party

Disney has replaced the Zom-Beatz Bash from the previous year with Stitch’s Masquerade Mashup. Guests can join Stitch, Lilo, and Angel at Rockettower Plaza Stage in Tomorrowland in a Halloween masquerade-themed experience.
This update brings more classic Disney characters to the event, which is helpful since the Disney Junior Jam was replaced with a Descendants-themed party.
5. Potential New Treat Trails for Villains
In the last two years, Disney transformed Disney Princess Fairytale Hall into a treat trail featuring Maleficent and the Evil Queen. This was very similar to how character treat trails work at Oogie Boogie Bash, which is very popular at Disneyland.
This year, Disney teased an expansion of this offering in their latest post, saying that “guests can expect even more fun than ever before with some familiar (and fiendish) faces surprising guests along the trails.” It would be great to see more themed Disney villain treat trails this year.
6. Rumored New Cast Member Costumes
It is rumored that Disney has changed the cast member costumes for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. Multiple cast members have shared online how bummed they are about this change, as the opportunity to wear the previous fun costumes was a big draw for working the event. You can see a teaser of the new costumes in the Reddit post shared below.

The new costumes look more friendly for handling the heat, which does make sense as Florida heat is still high in August, but they definitely aren’t as iconic as the previous costumes.
7. New Halloween Popcorn Buckets

Two new popcorn buckets will be available during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party: the Hatbox Ghost Bucket or Headless Horsemen Bucket. There is a limit of 2 per person, per transaction. Limited quantities available each night, while supplies last. The event-specific popcorn buckets are always a big draw, and this year’s lineup is sure to be popular with guests.
