Where to Charge Your Phone at Disneyland

If you are at Disneyland and your phone is almost out of battery, you have a few options to consider for charging your phone at Disneyland. Disneyland doesn't have a formal phone charging station, and using outlets is the more challenging option. You may find limited options for outlets to plug your phone in around the parks or in restaurants, but locating these can be difficult, and it will take up a big chunk of your time staying stationary as your phone is charging when you could be out enjoying the parks.

The better option, and the one we would recommend, is utilizing a portable charger. You can buy a FuelRod to charge your phone on the go at kiosks located around the park, and in the future, you can bring your own portable charger (with our recommendation for the best one further down in this article).

Below, we will talk about where these kiosks are located across the Disneyland Resort (with maps).

Portable Charging Systems at the Disneyland Resort

Third-party-operated FuelRod Portable Phone Charging Systems Kiosks are located around the Disneyland Resort, where you can buy a portable charging system for $30. Once you find one, you'll follow the prompt on the screen and use any major credit card to purchase a kit that contains:

  • One fully charged portable battery
  • One 6″ USB to micro-USB cable (for most Android devices)
  • One Apple 30-pin to USB cable (for iPhone and iPad generations 1-4)
  • One Apple Lightning to USB cable (for iPhone generations 5+)

Once you receive this, you can put in one of the cables to your phone, and it will charge as you're on the go. A fully charged portable charging system will provide up to 8 hours of talk time or up to 4 hours of mobile tablet usage, but hours of talk time and usage can depend on the condition of the device.

Read about how to use the Disneyland FuelRod system here.

If your battery runs low (indicated by a red LED light), you can either swap it for a fully charged replacement at any kiosk by inserting the used battery and taking a new one or recharge it using a USB cable to plug into a computer or into an AC outlet through a USB charging port. This is a helpful option for charging your phone at Disneyland.

Recommended Portable Phone Charger to Bring to Disneyland

A portable charger is one of the most essential items we recommend bringing in your Disneyland Park bag—see our full packing list for every crucial item to pack for a trip to Disneyland. Especially if you are managing Genie+ Lightning Lane reservations and mobile orders, or if you're using your phone to check wait times, take pictures, etc., your battery can drain much faster than you would expect during a day at the park. It always pays to come prepared with a reliable portable charger so you're prepared for charging your phone at Disneyland.

Which Battery Pack Should I Take to Disneyland?

We recommend the AnkerPowercore 1000 battery pack, which holds 3-4 phone charges and is an affordable option that won't be weighing down your park bag and taking up a lot of space. You can buy the AnkerPowercore 1000 through Amazon, and you can use it to charge any device with a USB plug.

Tips for Saving Phone Battery at Disneyland

Indiana Jones Temple

If you're at the beginning or middle of your Disneyland day and see your battery already draining quickly, here are a few tips for saving your phone battery.

  1. Turn on Airplane Mode when you're on underground rides so that your phone doesn't keep searching for a connection.
  2. Turn on low battery mode to help extend your phone's battery life. I always do this early on in the day, and it's worked quite well to preserve my phone's battery whenever I'm at Disneyland.
  3. Reduce the brightness on your screen.
  4. Disable your personal hotspot.

If you combine these tips with having a portable charger handy, you shouldn't have a problem maintaining the charge on your phone at Disneyland.
