These Celebrities Might Love Disney Parks As Much as You Do

People-watching is a favorite pastime at the parks among Disney regulars, and you never know when you might see a celebrity by chance! Disney draws families of all kinds, and many celebrities love Walt Disney World and Disneyland as much as we do. Whether they have worked on Disney projects at one point or another or simply enjoy the imagination and atmosphere, it may surprise you to learn that these stars are Disney nerds at heart!

Jason Bateman

While this Ozark actor, director, and producer’s on-screen character Marty Byrde might not be the best family man, Jason Bateman himself visits Disneyland regularly with his wife and two daughters.

However, there is one ride he might be skipping. On a past visit with his daughter Francesca, the Zootopia voice actor told Disney Parks Blog that the The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror (now Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout! at Disney California Adventure) scares him. We’re sure you’re not alone, Jason.

Busy Philipps

This Girls5Eva actress describes her family as a “Disney family.” Not only does she visit Walt Disney World annually–even if she must brave the sweltering summer heat and humidity to make it happen–but she has also made it tradition for her family to spend Mother’s Day at sea aboard a Disney Cruise each year.

Sporting a favorite pair of ears and dressing the part helps Busy get into the proper Disney spirit, and she looks forward to eating all the food Walt Disney World has to offer–churros in particular. When asked which park is her favorite, Philipps enthusiastically replied, “I honestly love Animal Kingdom! It is THE BEST.”

Serena Williams

When asked what she was going to do next after the US open in 2022 (her last competitive event before retiring), tennis master Serena Williams turned to the TV cameras and shouted, “I’m going to Disney World!” Visiting Walt Disney World was one of this superstar’s favorite things to do during her time off long before hanging up her golden racket. “You can’t beat Disney World,” she told Disney Parks blog back in 2016, “It’s just the best place to come! You can be a kid…you can act yourself…you know. You can just have an amazing time.”

A big fan of Disney princesses, Williams says one of her favorites is Merida from the Disney Pixar feature Brave because she can identify with the Scottish heroine’s strength and courage. Makes sense to us!

 H E R

This Grammy-winning artist just gifted autographed guitars to three teens interested in pursuing music careers as part of the 16th Disney Dreamers Academy in March.

This was definitely not her first visit to Walt Disney World, however. In July of 2021, the R&B musician chose Walt Disney World as the locale for her first vacation in over two years. As a singer, she says the Disney character she relates the most to is Snow White, because she loves animals, is constantly singing, and has a positive outlook on life.

Gwen Stefani

Native to Anaheim, Gwen grew up with Disneyland as her backyard, and spontaneous after-school trips with her mom to “the happiest place on earth” were nothing out of the ordinary.

It is now Christmas tradition for the singer/songwriter and fashion mogul to visit with her three sons at least once a year during the holidays, and they are no strangers to Walt Disney World in Florida either. A repeat performer on The Wonderful World of Disney: Magical Holiday Celebration and in the Disney Parks Magical Christmas Day Parade, she also partnered with Disney in 2018 to raise money for the Make-A-Wish foundation.

John Stamos

A self-proclaimed “Disney freak” and regular narrator at the holiday “Candlelight Processional” at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World, this actor, producer, musician, and singer from Full House has a Disney memorabilia collection he displays in his yard, including the original Disneyland sign.

After proposing at Disneyland in 2017, he and his wife, fellow actor and Disney superfan Caitlin McHugh, spent their honeymoon at Walt Disney World. Now they visit the parks with their son Billy, and Stamos says he hopes Disney “fuels his dreams as it does mine.”

Olivia Wilde

Many of us who consider ourselves Disney aficionados have the nostalgia of visiting the Disney theme parks as children to stoke our adult Disney passions, but Don’t Worry Darling director Olivia Wilde didn’t visit a Disney park until 2013 with then-fiancé Jason Sudeikis. It must have made quite an impression on her, because after a recent return to Disneyland with her kids, she captioned her Instagram photos, “Bury me under space mountain this is my favorite place on earth.”

Wilde has been involved in several Disney projects over the years, including her role as Quorra in TRON: Legacy and her photo shoot with Annie Leibovitz as part of the Disney Dream Portraits series for which she posed as the Evil Queen from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

Alec Baldwin

After a trip to Disneyland with his family in 2020, this Dr. Death star captioned an Instagram post with some high praise for the man himself: “People would often ask me, ‘Who is the greatest filmmaker in history?’ I’d say, ‘That’s easy. Walt Disney.’”

“Here we are, hanging out with the biggest movie star of them all.” He is of course referring to Mickey, who has posed with the Baldwin family in the post. Alec apparently has as much appreciation for Disney filmmaking as he does for the theme parks. According to Disney Parks Blog, he has an “encyclopedic knowledge of Disney film dialogue” and was able to recite every line the Magic Mirror says in Snow White when he portrayed the iconic character as part of the Disney Dream Portraits photo shoot in 2011.

Blake Lively

Gossip Girl alumna Blake Lively grew up going to Disneyland regularly and still frequents Disney Parks with her husband, Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds, and their kids. She’s such a Disney fan that she often takes style inspiration from Disney princesses like Cinderella, Elsa, Belle, and Ariel, and sometimes even villains like Ursula and Cruella DeVil.

She kicked off her 35th birthday celebration back in August with a trip to Disneyland. “Find me a happier place on earth to start my birthday celebrations early,” she captioned her Instagram photos documenting the occasion, “I’ll wait…”

Neil Patrick Harris

Neil Patrick Harris’s inclusion on this list may not come as a surprise to some. In addition to his several Disney hosting gigs (Disney California Adventure’s “World of Color,” Epcot’s Candlelight Processional, and more), the Uncoupled actor has always been vocal about his love of all things Disney. You can find out details about the World of Color show in our guide to dining packages, showtimes, and more!

Harris and husband David Burtka take their 12-year-old twins to Walt Disney World at least once a year, and in 2021, the doting dad told People Magazine they will continue to do so “until they can’t stand me anymore.” Walt Disney has been his idol since childhood, and his kids have grown up learning to appreciate Disney Parks for their architecture, imagineering, and incredible rides. Read about the current feat of Imagineering underway at Epcot in Walt Disney World's Moana's Journey of Water and in our guide to new rides at Disney World.
