Cabanas at Volcano Bay are Your Personal Headquarters at Volcano Bay

Volcano Bay Entrance In other words, the cabanas are home-away-from-home when visiting Volcano Bay. Think of the cabanas as similar to cabanas that available for rent at Universal Orlando’s hotels or cabanas at other luxury hotels. They’re not only a great place for your party to hang out and relax at. But they’re also your party’s headquarters to come back to after exploring and playing with the Waturi. Scattered throughout Volcano Bay, there are 51 cabanas that offer either a 1-story or 2-story area for your party. If you think this was already plenty for a water theme park, read on because there’s so much more to it!

What’s Included with a Cabana Rental

Cabana Bay Drinks With the price tag on the cabanas, you’re offered a number of exclusive and convenient amenities. Your cabana experience at Volcano Bay starts by checking into one of the water park’s 3 concierge kiosks after entering the park. After checking in, you wait for a Universal Orlando Team Member to walk you to your cabana. In addition to a private experience, your party has access to the following:
  • Padded lounge chairs
  • Small refrigerator stocked with bottled water (with unlimited replacement bottles)
  • Complimentary fruit and snack basket (including muffins and pastries)
  • Unlimited towel service (for reference, towel rentals are $7 per towel)
  • Locker service (with plenty of space to fit 2 or 3 backpacks)
  • Ceiling fan
  • Privacy curtains
  • Guest Experience Transformation Tablet
  • Concierge service with an exclusive menu of food and drink delivered directly to the cabana
These last 2 amenities truly elevate your Volcano Bay experience. The Guest Experience Transformation Tablet allows you to book and adjust your Virtual Line spots for different attractions – all from your lounge chair! This creates an extremely convenient approach to planning, saving you precious time instead of speeding over to each ride to swipe your Tapu Tapu at each TapTu Ride point. You can also use this tablet to access a map of the park or view food and drink options. The concierge service gives you access to any food or drink item from any of Volcano Bay’s 4 restaurants and 2 bars as well as an exclusive menu of items you cannot order at any of the Volcano Bay restaurants. After ordering, your food or drink then gets delivered directly to your cabana. Additionally, as we mentioned earlier, when you first enter Volcano Bay, a concierge will greet and escort you straight to your cabana! These last 2 amenities alone may make your cabana rental at Volcano Bay worth it.

Types of Cabanas Available at Volcano Bay (and Why Prices Fluctuate)

Volcano Bay Winding River When renting a cabana, it’s important to understand that while you’re not able to choose where in Volcano Bay you want to sit, you’re able to request a specific location when checking in. With that said, there are 3 types of cabanas that you can rent when visiting Volcano Bay. You’ll find these cabanas spread out throughout the entirety of Volcano Bay. Additionally, similar to date-based pricing at Universal Orlando and Walt Disney World, the prices for these cabanas vary according to demand. In other words, you should expect prices to increase during busier times of the year (especially summer) and decrease during off-peak times. Let’s go over each cabana type and their expected price range.

Single Cabana Units ($159.99 – $800+ per day)

Krakatau Single cabana units hold up to 6 people and come in different sub-types that offer different advantages. Upper cabanas (on the 2nd floor of a group of cabanas) give guests better views and additional patio space. These cabanas tend to carry a higher price tag than lower cabanas. Lower cabanas (on the 1st floor of a group of cabanas) give guests easy ground-level access and can be more suitable for guests that have difficulty navigating steps. They are also a great option for those that don't necessarily need an ADA-compliant cabana but have mobility deficits that can be addressed with a 1st floor cabana. Stand-alone cabanas offer the most privacy to guests. As the name implies, stand-alone cabanas aren't grouped with other cabanas, so you and your party will be farther away from other guests. Additionally, there are ADA-compliant cabanas that have elevators to get you to the 2nd floor if needed. These types of cabanas are perfect for those whose mobility deficits severely limit their ability to go up or down stairs. Remember though that unless you have a specific need for an ADA cabana, you aren’t able to choose where to sit when booking.

Family Suite Cabanas ($299.99 – $1,000+ per day)

Tapu Tapu As the name implies, this style of cabana holds a much larger party. For groups up to 16 people, the family suite cabana gives you much more space than any of the single cabana units. Additionally, when booking a family suite cabana, you’re automatically given a stand-alone building. This guarantees your group more privacy than a lot of the single cabana units. The stand-alone building can be fully covered, which can be especially useful during rain storms which occur frequently during the summer months. You’re also given a large table with chairs for your entire group to enjoy a meal or relax and read a book. Keep in mind, however, that out of the 51 available cabanas at Volcano Bay, only 2 of them are family suite cabanas. Because of that, you can imagine how high demand for these family suite cabanas can be. If you’re looking for this cabana type, booking as soon as possible is imperative. And keep in mind of course, with a bigger, private cabana that has low availability comes a slightly larger price tag.

Premium Seating ($49.99 – $139.99 per day for 2 loungers)

Krakatau Maybe it’s just you and a friend or your partner and want even more privacy than what the single cabana units offer. Premium seating caters to both of you. Although this seating isn’t enclosed like a private Volcano Bay cabana, it’s still a great option if you want to get away from the crowds. Located in several different areas throughout Volcano Bay, premium seating gives you a smaller piece of real estate with guaranteed shade for you and your companion. Premium seating includes the following:
  • Padded lounge chairs
  • Adjustable shade canopy
  • Built-in storage lockbox
Some Volcano Bay premium services even include a Universal Orlando escort who will guide you to your reserved seating area as well as an attendant to take care of your food and drink orders. Premium seating is great for much smaller groups!

Cabanas at Volcano Bay: Are They Worth It?

Krakatau If you’re looking for the most convenient, relaxing, stress-free experience at Volcano Bay, renting a cabana may very well be worth your money. In addition to the padded lounge chairs, towel and locker service, fully stocked refrigerator, and fruit and snack basket, renting a cabana also gives you access to the Guest Experience Transformation Tablet and concierge service. These 2 amenities alone save loads of time while you and your party are able to relax! However, we understand that as the cost varies according to demand, there comes a point where the price far outweighs the benefits of a cabana. If the price for a cabana is beyond your budget, don't worry. There are plenty of open seating options for you and your party at Universal's Volcano Bay. If you do plan on renting a cabana, note that cabana bookings are completely non-refundable, regardless of the circumstance. With that said, if the cabana you want to book is within your acceptable price range, we highly recommend booking it as soon as possible. And if you want to save yourself the stress and headache of booking, don’t hesitate to contact Get Away Today. They’ll help with all your booking needs so you don’t have to worry about it!
