Earlier this year, Disneyland debuted Bluey and Bingo at the parks in a new show and play experience, Bluey’s Best Day Ever!. This has been a very well-received addition over the past several months, which is why we were surprised that it was indicated it would pause temporarily.
Now, Disneyland has shared a new update about the holiday season and this popular offering. We have details on what’s happening and how the announcement impacts other areas of the park. Mickey Visit brings you the latest Disney news and planning resources, including Disneyland Christmas changes for 2026 and Disneyland 2027 tickets and hotel bookings now available.

Bluey’s Best Day Ever! at Disneyland Update

Bluey’s Best Day Ever! opened in Fantasyland Theatre at Disneyland in March 2026. Guests join Bluey, Bingo, and a live band to dance and play games from Bluey’s TV show.
The open-air Fantasyland Theatre is also outfitted with photo-ops inspired by Bluey’s community, and the nearby Troubadour Tavern sells Bluey-themed snacks, like a magic “asparagus” pretzel.

As Disneyland looks ahead to the holiday season, the theme park’s website initially indicated that Bluey and Bingo’s venue would be repurposed for a different offering for multiple months.

During the past few years’ holiday seasons, Fantasyland Theatre has hosted Holiday Fun With Santa & Friends!, an event space where guests could come and go as they please and experience various live entertainment offerings. These included meet-and-greets with Santa and Disney characters, music performances by The Dickens Yuletide Band, storytime, sing-alongs, crafts, and snacks.
Throughout summer 2026, Disneyland’s website said that Holiday Fun was “scheduled to return 2026” to Fantasyland Theatre, which would mean Bluey’s Best Day Ever! would effectively close, at least for November and December. We monitored the Disneyland website closely, holding off on writing up this observation until August 25 in case it was a mistake. On August 26, Disney formally announced news that changed this.
Bluey’s Best Day Ever! will continue to operate in Fantasyland Theatre during the holiday season, Disney has confirmed. The show is not closing.
In turn, Holiday Fun With Santa and Friends! will not return to Fantasyland Theatre for 2026. The page for Holiday Fun With Santa and Friends! was deleted from the Disneyland Resort website this morning. The main holiday season landing page continues to highlight it as an offering, but we expect it to be gone from there soon.
Fantasyland Theatre may be keeping Bluey, but Santa Claus will still be around at Disneyland. Santa will be available in a new meet-and-greet space inside the former trolley barn, next to Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin, in Mickey’s Toontown.

We were originally surprised that Disney would boot Bluey, a very successful offering, from Fantasyland Theatre, even if just temporarily, so the change makes sense to us. This does seem to mean that the rest of the activities and offerings of Holiday Fun With Santa and Friends! will not be back. Based on the new information, the only thing that will be preserved is meeting Santa in a new location.
Disneyland has been filing construction permits with the city of Anaheim for several weeks to prepare the trolley barn space as a new meet-and-greet spot. Based on the extent of the work perceivable from public permits, the space could become a permanent meet-and-greet spot for other characters after the holiday season.
Disneyland’s holiday season dates this year are November 13, 2026, through January 6, 2027. This year features the return of many favorites, including the classic Christmas Fantasy Parade and World of Color – Season of Light, the latter of which is back for the first time since 2024.
