One Christmas Show NOT Returning This Year
A particularly notable change this November is that one holiday nighttime spectacular will not be returning this year. At Disney California Adventure, the World of Color – Season of Light show will be unavailable during the celebration. Instead, the new 70th anniversary World of Color Happiness! will continue running.

Two Fireworks Shows This Month
There will be some shifts to the entertainment offerings at Disneyland Park after the end of the Halloween celebration. There are two fireworks shows during November, one each showing during different times of the month.
After the final performance of Halloween Screams, the park will shift back to Wondrous Journeys for the brief transitional time before the holidays. From November 1 through November 13, Wondrous Journeys will show with projections on weekdays and with fireworks on weekends. From November 14th onwards, the “Believe…In Holiday Magic” show will be offered, with fireworks every night.
Disneyland Lowering Price on Reserved Fireworks Viewing

Another notable change this year is that Disneyland is lowering the price of the Tomorrowland Skyline Terrace: Evening Dining Package this November. The dining package includes views of the Disneyland fireworks from the terrace and chilled foods, snacks, and desserts, as well as access to the terrace, where they can watch the show sans projections.
At the start of the holiday celebration beginning November 14, 2025, prices will be reduced from $89 per guest to $75 per guest. With this change, there will be some reductions to the adult portion of the menu. See all of the details about this change and whether we think the experience would be worth it in our separate report here.
Paint the Night Pauses, Holiday Parade Begins
A big entertainment shift is that the Paint the Night parade will temporarily pause performances starting on November 10 to make way for the holiday parade. This means that the last day to see Paint the Night this year is November 9. This may catch some visitors, who are expecting Paint the Night to run all the way up to the day before the holiday celebration, off guard. There will not be a parade showing at Disneyland Park from November 10 through November 13.
From November 14 onwards, A Christmas Fantasy Parade will be the holiday parade offering, with two showtimes a day at 3:00 pm and 5:15 pm. The holiday parade dining packages at Plaza Inn are offered a few days after the celebration begins, from November 16 onwards, and will have blackout dates at the end of the month from November 26 into the first week of December.
Seasonal Decor Shifting
Right after the end of the Halloween celebration, Disneyland gets to work removing the Halloween decor overnight. You can expect to see Christmas decor appearing in stages over the first couple of weeks of November, leading up to the official start of the holiday celebration. While some holiday decor will be up, along with holiday merch, the official celebration (featuring special entertainment, foods, ride overlays, etc.) will not kick off until November 14.
Seasonal Ride Closures
Leading up to the start of the Christmas celebration, there will be some seasonal ride closures. “it’s a small world” will be closed from October 30 through November 13 to install the “it’s a small world” Holiday, and Redwood Creek Challenge Trail will be closed from November 1 through November 13. Both attractions will reopen for the kickoff of the holiday celebration on November 14.
In addition to these two closures, there are a few other longer closures without a reopening date listed that are currently expected to extend into November. Among these is Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, which has been closed since early September and recently had its closure extended, and Storybook Land Canal Boats, which will be getting a new scene added during its closure. Update: We now have the news that Big Thunder is reopening early, and the reopening date for Storybook Land Canal Boats and Casey Jr. Circus Train.
You can see all of the Disneyland November closures currently on the calendar in our separate article.
Varying Hours of Operation
November’s hours of operation this year are notably different than they have been in the past. In previous years, Disneyland Park closed at 12 am and Disney California Adventure closed at 10 pm every day.
This year, on Fridays and Saturdays, Disneyland’s closing time is 12 am and Disney California Adventure’s is 10 pm. On Sundays and weekdays, Disneyland’s closing time is 11 pm, and Disney California Adventure’s closing time is 9 pm. During the busy Thanksgiving Week, the parks shift back to longer hours with Disneyland closing at 12 am and Disney California Adventure closing at 10 pm.
Crowd Levels Will Fluctuate
November typically has quite a lot of variation in its crowd patterns. There are a couple of stretches of time, both before and after the start of the holiday celebration, that we anticipate will have lower crowd levels. Later in the month, you can expect peak crowds in the week surrounding Thanksgiving. See all of our crowd level projections in our Disneyland crowd calendar here.
This week is one of the most crowded times of the year at Disneyland, as many families take advantage of this time when kids are out of school to plan a visit. However, do not fret if you have a trip planned during this time! By using a solid strategy and our Disneyland hacks for beating the crowds, you can accomplish a lot during your park day.
Seasonal Foods Changing
The Disneyland menus will be switching up quite a bit during November! While some seasonal foods will no longer be available as of November 1, several items from the grouping of seasonal Disneyland Halloween foods will be available all the way through November 13 (and some even longer through the duration of the holiday celebration). Starting November 14, there will be a new batch of seasonal Disneyland Christmas foods.
We also keep an eye on general menu updates at the Disneyland restaurants, like these recent quiet changes to five Disneyland restaurants and 13 items quietly swapped out for this top Disney California Adventure restaurant.
Character Dining Themes Shifting
The seasonal character dining offerings at Disneyland will also be shifting throughout the month of November. Special character dining experiences abound this month! For the first half of the month, the non-themed experiences will return, then the holiday experiences will begin shortly after the start of the Christmas celebration. There are also special Thanksgiving Day offerings.
The regular brunch and dinner buffet will be offered at Goofy’s Kitchen from November 1 through November 16. The regular Donald’s Tales of Adventure Dinner Buffet at Storytellers Cafe will be offered from November 1 through November 16. Meanwhile, Mickey’s Autumn Adventures Breakfast and Brunch will still be offered through November 16.
Starting November 17, these locations will switch to their holiday-themed character dining experiences. Mickey’s Christmas Carol Feast is a new holiday character dining dinner featuring Mickey, Scrooge McDuck, Minnie, Clarabelle, and Goofy dressed as characters from A Christmas Carol.
Daisy’s Holiday Pajama Party is a breakfast and brunch offering with some characters switched around since last year, now featuring Daisy, Donald, Chip, Dale, and Pluto. There will also be a holiday character dining breakfast, brunch, and dinner offered at Goofy’s Kitchen as well. You can see the details for the two holiday character dining experiences at Storytellers Cafe and the holidays at Goofy’s Kitchen.
Both Storytellers Cafe and Goofy’s Kitchen will offer special holiday character dining experiences on November 27 for Thanksgiving Day. In addition to these character dining experiences, there are also typically Thanksgiving Day meals offered at popular table-service restaurants. See everything you need to know about Thanksgiving at Disneyland here.
Santa Appearing In Late November
Santa will begin appearing around the resort during the holiday celebration in November. At the Disneyland Resort Hotels and Downtown Disney specifically, he will begin meeting guests a couple of weeks after the kickoff of the holiday celebration in late November.
Santa’s first appearance at the hotels will be on November 28. You can find him in the main lobby at Pixar Place Hotel, in the Great Hall at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, and in the main lobby at the Disneyland Hotel. There will also be a special Breakfast With Santa in Downtown Disney that will start in late November. The November dates for this offering at Naples Ristorante e Bar are November 26, 29, and 30.
