Closures in Pixar Pier 2026
The Disneyland refurbishments calendar shows that for part of January 2026, there will be three key experiences with overlapping closures in Pixar Pier.

This time of year is ideal if you want to visit with lower crowds, but there are typically a greater number of closures as Disney takes advantage of this slower time to work on necessary refurbishments. That said, some of these refurbishments do hit a popular holiday weekend in this period. You can see our Mickey Visit crowd calendar for crowd level projections each day of the year.
It is not often that Disney will close this many attractions in the land at the same time, so we wanted to give you a heads up so you know what to expect if you have a trip planned. This one area of the park will be heavily impacted.
Lamplight Lounge and Lamplight Lounge – Boardwalk Dining will both be closed starting mid-January. This is one of our top Mickey Visit best Disneyland restaurants, and a very popular option for visitors.
According to the Disneyland website, both locations will close starting January 12, 2026. We are seeing the restaurant is listed as “closed” from the 12th through the 15th, and there are “no reservations available” from the 16th through the 20th. While it’s possible that these locations could reopen on January 21, there is no official reopening date for either at the time of writing. Both Lamplight Lounge and Lamplight Lounge – Boardwalk Dining will reopen on January 17, 2026.
This is also happening at the same time that the flagship restaurant at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel and Spa is closed. Napa Rose is still in the middle of its multi-month transformation. We don’t have an opening date for that restaurant yet. Since there are two flagship restaurants at Disneyland closed during this overlapping period, expect to see higher demand for the next tier of restaurants.
There are also a few more closures happening in Pixar Pier during this month. As we previously shared in our announcement of 3 Disney California Adventure rides closing, Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind and Incredicoaster will close on January 5, 2026.
We originally thought that this may have something to do with the new Coco ride Disney is building in the area next to Pixar Pier, but Disneyland confirmed with us that this is not the case.
In 2025, Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind was closed from January 6 to January 23, so we can expect it will be closed for a similar amount of time this year. We would also not be surprised if the Incredicoaster closure is of a similar duration.
Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind will be closed from January 5 through January 22, and it will reopen on January 23. The Incredicoaster will be closed from January 5 through February 5, 2026, and it will reopen on February 6, 2026.
This means that these two rides will share the most overlap, but from the 12th through the 16th, all three of the aforementioned experiences (Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind, Incredicoaster, and Lamplight Lounge/ Lamplight Lounge – Boardwalk Dining) will be closed at the same time.

There will also be a few closures happening at Disneyland Park at this time.
We recently received the date that the Haunted Mansion will be closing to remove its seasonal overlay after the holidays, and the Mark Twain Riverboat will close for refurbishment on the same day. See details about the Haunted Mansion closure in our separate article here.
