The biggest experiences for the holidays at Universal Orlando are Christmas in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Grinchmas, Universal’s Holiday Parade featuring Macy’s, and the food booths in Universal Studios Florida.

Universal Orlando Holiday Experiences

Grinchmas meet and greet

The holidays at Universal Orlando are typically split into three main events: the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Grinchmas, and the Universal Holiday Parade featuring Macy’s.

Harry Potter Christmas

This year, Christmas in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter will feature decorations in Hogsmeade at Universal Islands of Adventure, Diagon Alley at Universal Studios Florida, and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic at Universal Epic Universe. I am so happy to see decorations extended right away to the Ministry of Magic area in Epic Universe. There will be seasonal Harry Potter merchandise available along with hot Butterbeer and other holiday-themed experiences like “The Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts Castle.”

Grinchmas Universal Orlando

Grinchmas in Seuss Landing at Islands of Adventure is one of the most popular experiences of the holidays at Universal Orlando. One of the highlights is the stage show “The Grinchmas Who-liday Spectacular,” which is a live retelling of the Dr. Seuss classic, “How the Grinch Stole Christmas!” You can also meet The Grinch, if the lines aren't too long, that is, and encounter other Whos in the area.

The best part, in my humble opinion, is Universal’s Holiday Parade featuring Macy’s at Universal Studios Florida. The parade features larger-than-life balloons and iconic characters from films like Illumination’s Despicable Me, DreamWorks Animation’s Shrek and Madagascar, and more.

Epic Universe Celebrating the Holidays

Celestial Park

Along with decorations in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, there will be other holiday decor within Celestial Park. Celestial Park will feature new seasonal lighting and decorations. The lighting in Celestial Park is especially impressive, and holiday decorations and lighting here will look wonderful.

There is a lot of opportunity here to make a great holiday show with the lighting capabilities in Celestial Park. It's a good sign that Universal is already thinking about expanding holiday decorations during its first holiday season.
