Disney’s Hollywood Studios has some of the most popular restaurants in Walt Disney World, with some of the most iconic themes. There is one that really stands out as a totally unique experience in Walt Disney World.

50’s Prime Time Café Has a Winning Theme
50’s Prime Time Cafe is an all-American restaurant inside Hollywood Studios, that is ranked amongst some of the best Hollywood Studios restaurants, that is themed to be just like “Mom’s Kitchen” from the 1950s. This is easily one of the most popular restaurants inside Hollywood Studios. The theming of this restaurant is always amazing. I’m always overwhelmed with nostalgia for my grandma’s house.

If you’re into vintage items, you will love the decor. I always spend a lot of time looking at everything on the walls and in the main area.
There are retro TV tables so you can watch TV while you eat, but if you don’t get seated at a TV table, don’t worry, there are plenty of retro TVs mounted around the restaurant! The TVs are showing prime time TV show clips from the 50’s and every so often will show Walt Disney’s opening speech from Disneyland.
Next door to the restaurant, adults can check out the Tune-In Lounge, which offers more alcoholic drinks and a large retro bar space. This is a fun hidden gem in Hollywood Studios if you want to escape to an air-conditioned bar area for a bit!
Elbows Off the Table!
Be prepared for some humor at this restaurant- the staff here aren’t above giving you lessons in table etiquette and lectures on table manners! My teenager is often reminded to keep his elbows off the table! Your server will play the role of an extended family member, ours was Aunt Mary, who will cheerfully scold you for not setting the table before your arrival.
All of the interactions with the servers are so well thought out. Our server kept her eye on my son to make sure he was cleaning his plate and keeping his elbows off the table. We have many memories of great interactions with servers in this spot. One of the most hilarious of them was the server putting all the parents in our area in a time-out for being on our phones, which all of our kids found absolutely hysterical.
Don’t worry if these over-the-top interactions aren’t your thing, the servers are pretty good at assessing how willing you are to play along.
Best Comfort Food in Hollywood Studios
The menu is a hit for my picky family as it offers tons of great traditional American foods and desserts. The cornbread comes hot and served with butter and honey. I’m a big fan of cornbread and it’s great here.
As far as appetizers go, the onion rings and cornbread are top choices on the menu. We love the onion rings here and always get them as a starter.
The menu offers more than just heavy comfort food- you can also find a nice salad here as well. The Caesar salad with chicken is a great lighter option.
The biggest star on the menu is the meatloaf, this is always a hit with my partner!
And of course, you can’t skip the mashed potatoes. I love the mashed potatoes here, they taste like authentic home cooked mashed potatoes.

But watch out, if you don’t clear your plate, then you might get scolded. But if you do clear your plate, you’ll be gifted with a sticker that says Clean Plate Club on it! This is one of my favorite restaurants at Disney World, and we just keep coming back for the food and the fun atmosphere.
