The name of the sixth ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet was announced on Sunday, September 11, at the D23 Expo.
Disney Parks, Experiences and Products Chairman Josh D’Amaro made the announcement that the theme for the new cruise ship will be based around adventure, “celebrating Walt Disney’s lifelong love of exploration.”
“The Grand Hall is inspired by the grandeur and mystery of a gilded palace, drawing on real-world influences from Asia and Africa, and paying homage to the far-off land of Agrabah. At the center, the signature statue will feature Aladdin, Jasmine and their Magic Carpet,” Disney Parks explained on Twitter.
Disney announced that the new ship will be called the Disney Treasure and will set sail sometime in 2024.

D’Amaro also announced that there will be new ports of call in New Zealand and Australia for current Disney Cruise Line ships. You can read all about my recent Disney Cruise experience in Alaska here.
For a limited time, guests there will be able to go on various Disney cruises themed around Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars. These cruises will be available beginning October 2023.
Repositioning cruises for the Disney Wonder will also allow guests to visit destinations such as Fiji and Samoa, which will be the first South Pacific voyages, according to the Disney Parks blog.
D'Amaro ended the cruise ship announcements by giving an update on the progress of the Lighthouse Point island destination in the Bahamas.
There, cruise guests will be able to enjoy the “natural beauty and rich culture” that the country has to offer. It is meant to complement Castaway Bay. A date for completion has yet to be announced.
