Disney is continuing their collaboration that was first revealed at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, with designer Bobby Kim, who is reimagining iconic vintage Disney designs. The first part of the collection has had extremely high demand, with the last online release selling out in seconds.
Now this collection is getting a second release featuring vintage Halloween-focused designs with nostalgic artwork. Keep reading for all the details of this second release and how to get it. Bobby Kim’s Vintage T-shirt Design Disney Collaboration

Bobby Kim is the Global Creative Director for Disney Consumer Products, overseeing design, storytelling, and collaborations across Disney merchandise. The first shirt in his collaboration with Disney, inspired by famous vintage T-shirt designs, was released at the D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event. The sorcerer Mickey shirt, seen above, was exclusive to attendees of his panel and is now reselling on eBay for around $300.
The second release in the collection came to the Disney Store online and sold out in seconds. A second version of the popular sorcerer Mickey shirt, this time as a T-shirt, is also reselling on eBay for around $250. There is clearly a high demand for these iconic vintage shirts.
This is familiar territory for Bobby Kim, who is known for his appreciation of vintage clothing. As the co-founder of the streetwear brand The Hundreds, Kim is bringing a background in fashion and collectible designs to these new collections.
Vintage clothing in general has been making a comeback, particularly with T-shirts featuring nostalgic designs, retro graphics, and classic details such as 100% cotton fabrics and single-stitch construction. These new Disney collections aim to bring back classic Disney T-shirt designs, many of which have become sought-after collectibles, with original vintage versions often reselling for high prices on resale sites and in vintage markets.

In fact, for the last release, Disney and Bobby Kim sent PR boxes to well-known vintage clothing influencers on Instagram, rather than just targeting Disney influencers. There is clearly a market for collections like this that focus on consumers outside of just Disney circles.

The second collection, releasing on October 15 at 6 PM PST on DisneyStore.com, will feature eight new shirts focusing on Disney villains.
The T-shirts feature iconic villains from films like Alice in Wonderland, Snow White, Aladdin, and Ursula. Other designs draw inspiration from retro Disney shows and films, including Gargoyles and Halloweentown, while additional pieces feature classic characters like Donald Duck and Scrooge McDuck.

I anticipate the Gargoyles and Jafar T-shirt will be the big demand items from this collection. The Disney Store website will likely feature an online queue, and it will probably sell out fast! The last collection that released on Disney Store sold out within minutes, without any shirts left after the queue ended.
