Meeting Mickey Mouse is at the top of many Walt Disney World visitors’ must-do list. A family photo with the big cheese is the ultimate souvenir, and for some guests, meeting Mickey represents months or years of hard work and planning to make this vacation moment possible. It’s not unusual to see guests struck with emotion when coming face to face with the literal mascot of family entertainment. Guests can meet Mickey in multiple places throughout Disney World, but the best spot was unbeknownst to me until my recent trip.
I’ve been visiting Disney World my whole life, and worked there at one point. I may have found the best way to meet Mickey Mouse, but this awesome photo-op is only open during a very specific time. In this story, I’ll show you where I found Mickey’s coolest meet-and-greet spot, and everywhere else he meets throughout Disney World. Mickey’s Best Meet and Greet Spot in Disney World
As the most popular Disney character, there is no shortage of opportunities to meet Mickey Mouse at Walt Disney World. Guests can find him at all four theme parks, plus a few other locations.

I’ll map out the full list later in this story, but first I’d like to highlight a one-of-a-kind way to meet Mickey that many guests don’t realize exists.
During a recent visit to EPCOT, I snapped what might be one of my new favorite photos: Mickey Mouse, with Spaceship Earth in the background, next to the park’s statue of Walt Disney! Mickey only meets here during a very specific period, and I was floored when I discovered this photo-op.
This spot is called Dreamers Point. It’s located in World Celebration toward the front of the park, behind Spaceship Earth and near Connections Café. This area opened in 2023 and features a bronze statue titled Walt the Dreamer. This statue depicts Walt Disney toward the end of his life, when he would have been dreaming up his plans for EPCOT. The EPCOT theme park we know today is very different than the futuristic city that Walt had in mind, but the statue nonetheless looks out upon what his vision became.
During the daytime, Dreamers Point is a standard Disney PhotoPass spot, with a photographer cast member stationed for family photos, but no characters present. Mickey, along with Minnie and Goofy, spend the day meeting guests at the nearby Mickey & Friends indoor character greeting location.
On select nights, EPCOT hosts Disney After Hours, a limited-capacity special event taking place after the park has closed to the general public. Disney After Hours attendees can enjoy EPCOT rides, unlimited snacks, and character greetings.
Characters at EPCOT during Disney After Hours include Minnie Mouse at a gazebo in the France Pavilion, Goofy at a dance party outside of CommuniCore Hall, and Mickey Mouse at Dreamers Point.
Mickey’s meet and greet at Dreamers Point during Disney After Hours is his best photo-op in Disney World. He’s wearing his classic outfit of black suit jacket, yellow bowtie, and red slacks. The instantly recognizable Spaceship Earth is behind him. The Walt statue is right there next to him. In terms of a classic Disney photo, I don’t think it could get much more ideal than this.
What might be the best part: I waited a grand total of two minutes! Mickey’s meet and greets elsewhere easily command waits of up to an hour or more daily, and some are so popular that they even offer Lightning Lane reservations.
Many guests attend Disney After Hours for the shorter wait times for headliner rides, like Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind or Frozen Ever After. Definitely take advantage of those when attending, but don’t overlook this unique way to meet Mickey. I haven’t seen any other Disney site report about this opportunity, which tells me it goes under the radar for most After Hours attendees. That’s a shame because more people should know about it!
There’s even a huge light in place just for lighting photos of Mickey’s meet and greet at Dreamers Point during Disney After Hours. While this does brighten up the area and make your photos brighter, its placement also leads to people’s shadows being in the photo. That’s just something to keep in mind if an unobstructed viewpoint is important to you. A PhotoPass photographer is present and can take the picture with a flash, but might not be able to get Spaceship Earth in the background.
Mickey signs autographs at this location and seemed to be there throughout the duration of the event. I would guess that his line gets longer as the night goes on, as more guests head toward the front of the park to exit and notice he’s there. If meeting him is important to you, I would prioritize it earlier in the night.

Everywhere to Meet Mickey at Disney World
Mickey Mouse greets guests at all four Walt Disney World theme parks during regular park hours:
At Magic Kingdom, Mickey meets inside Town Square Theater on Main Street, U.S.A., in a magician costume. Lightning Lane is available.
At EPCOT, Mickey is at a location called Mickey & Friends near CommuniCore Hall. He wears his classic costume of black jacket, yellow bowtie, and red slacks here. Guests wait in one line and then meet Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy individually.
At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Mickey meets at a spot called Red Carpet Dreams on Commissary Lane, near Star Tours – The Adventures Continue. Mickey wears his Sorcerer costume from Fantasia at this location, making it a really cool photo-op. Guests wait in one line and meet Minnie first, dressed in a glamorous Hollywood gala outfit, then Mickey.
At Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Mickey is in the Adventurers Outpost on Discovery Island, near the bridge to Asia. Guests meet Mickey and Minnie together at this location, the only place to do so outside of special events. Both mice wear safari outfits. Lightning Lane is available.
