Cozy Cone Closure Coming
Cozy Cone Motel is a popular dining spot in Cars Land at Disney California Adventure. It’s themed to look like Sally’s motel from Pixar’s Cars, but instead of each oversized cone being a motel room, the cones here each sell a different type of snack.

All five cones will close for refurbishment, but not all at once. Here’s the full schedule for the Cozy Cone Motel staggered refurbishment:
- July 6 and 7, 2026: Cone 2 (Ice Cream Cones) and Cone 5 (Popcone) closed
- July 8, 2026: Cone 3 (Chili Cone Queso) closed
- July 9 and 10, 2026: Cone 1 (Churros), Cone 3 (Chili Cone Queso), and Cone 4 (Frozen Cone-coctions) closed
All cones are expected to be open again on July 11, 2026.
Disney has not shared what kind of work is being performed on the Cozy Cone Motel snack windows. We recently heard from Disneyland’s maintenance teams about their approach to refurbishments and how they aim to minimize impacts on guests. While a dining closure is somewhat different from a ride closure, the staggered schedule of the Cozy Cone Motel refurbishment still speaks to this initiative. The location will always have at least a few cones open during its phased closure.
Cone 5 (Popcone) is where guests can find the new Lightning McQueen popcorn bucket. It’s also available right across the street at Flo’s V8 Café, so it will still be around during the Cozy Cone refurbishment.
Disney recently revealed that the fried chicken bread cone will return to Cozy Cone Motel this holiday season.

Cozy Cone Motel isn’t the only refurbishment on the calendar for July. Soarin’ will be closed for one day, and King Arthur Carrousel and Matterhorn Bobsleds will also have closures.
Disneyland announced the refurbishment dates for Haunted Mansion as the classic ride undergoes its annual transformation into Haunted Mansion Holiday.
Pirates of the Caribbean just reopened from an eight-week refurbishment that included a surprise change.
