Disneyland Ride Closure End Date Added to Calendar After 2 Month Closure

Disneyland routinely closes rides for refurbishment to make sure everything is updated and running smoothly. One particular ride has been undergoing a multi-week refurbishment, just after its Magic Kingdom counterpart recently opened after a major overhaul.

While this ride was just closed for standard maintenance, we now know when it is scheduled to reopen. By the time the closure ends, it will have lasted for two months. Keep reading for all of the details, plus some of the other current closures happening at the parks. Mickey Visit brings you the latest Disney news and planning resources, including Disney changing how park hopping works at Disneyland next week, and Downtown Disney opening a popular dessert location with frozen treats this month.

Disneyland Reopening Tomorrowland Ride After Extended Closure

Buzz Lightyear in Buzz Lightyear's Astro Blasters

Disneyland has a few active closures right now, including Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters in Tomorrowland, which closed on April 13 for refurbishment. At the time of the closure, Disneyland confirmed to us that this is just a standard refurbishment. Now, we know when the closure is scheduled to end, although reopening timelines are subject to change, as always. Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters is expected to reopen on June 12, 2026, making this around a two-month closure by the time of its completion.

Meanwhile, a few other closures are active at the parks. Disneyland typically tries to keep refurbishments to a minimum during the summer season, but you can still expect a few at a time. Right now, a major classic ride is closed for extended maintenance.

Pirates of the Caribbean entrance

Pirates of the Caribbean has been closed since May 4 with no reopening date yet listed, although Disney did previously share with us an estimated timeline for how long the ride will be closed. There are also closures coming up for King Arthur Carousel and Frontierland Shootin’ Exposition next month at Disneyland Park.

At Disney California Adventure, Silly Symphony Swings and Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind both continue their refurbishments.
