3 Disneyland Restaurant Closures Ending This Week. Here’s What Is Reopening!

Disneyland has had several closures recently. Whether that be rides, attractions, or restaurants, not everything has been open for guests to enjoy during their trip, and the somewhat sporadic nature of these closures and reopenings can make it difficult to keep track of what will and will not be open.

However, there are three restaurants across the Disneyland property reopening this week, including some top favorites. Keep reading to see which ones! Mickey Visit brings you the latest Disney news and planning resources, including the 10 new restaurants coming to Disney World and the Disney Store opening its first new physical location.

Which Disneyland Restaurants Are Reopening?

Trader Sam’s, a popular restaurant inspired by the iconic Jungle Cruise, has been receiving incremental refurbishments since March 2, with parts of the restaurant closing in stages before the full closure last week. This closure temporarily took away one of the most immaculately themed restaurants on the property, complete with animatronics, lighting, and sound effects based on what guests order. It is quite the immersive experience, so guests will surely be glad that Trader Sam’s is reopening in its entirety.

Tangaroa Terrace Tropical Bar & Grill, a popular Disneyland Hotel dining spot inspired by the Enchanted Tiki Room, known for its spacious wraparound terrace, closed along with Trader Sam’s on May 14.

Both Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar and Tangaroa Terrace Tropical Bar & Grill at Disneyland Hotel will reopen on May 20. The reopening of Trader Sam’s comes just in time for its 15th anniversary on May 25. As a part of that celebration, Disney is releasing exclusive merchandise, as well as a celebratory cocktail and mocktail.

Blue Bayou Reopening Before Pirates

Blue Bayou Restaurant has been closed since May 4. Its closure has coincided with Pirates of the Caribbean, since the restaurant and the ride share the same building. The fan-favorite Blue Bayou Restaurant at Disneyland Park will reopen on May 21.

It is important to note that even though Blue Bayou Restaurant is reopening on May 21, Pirates of the Caribbean will not be reopening with it. This means that the parts of the restaurant that overlook the ride will have obstructed views while the ride is still closed. As of right now, there is still no reopening date scheduled for Pirates of the Caribbean. Disney previously shared with us an estimate of the expected closure timeline.
