Disneyland has some staple foods that continue to surprise me. I am always circling back to try out the best foods at the theme park to share which are actually worth your time and to keep our best Disneyland restaurants article up to date.
Recently, I enjoyed a meal that is worth sharing, specifically because some might see it and think it’s not worthy of being some of the food that you enjoy at Disneyland. There are just so many options that it is easy to skip this more run-of-the-mill food option. Mickey Visit brings you the latest Disney news and planning resources, including Disney World getting more flight options after Spirit Airlines collapse, and Disney revealing a new change to its weakest Star Wars ride early.

Great Sandwich at Disneyland That is Worth Your Time
When I visit Disneyland, I often choose foods that are going to stand out to me as something distinctly “Disneyland.” Whether I am enjoying a corn dog from the Red Wagon, Quessabirria Tacos at Cocina Cucamonga Mexican Grill, or the pork shank from Carthay Circle, I typically try to recommend foods that are worthy of your Disneyland carbs.

Within Disney California Adventure, there are many great examples of this in San Fransokyo Square. Typically, my go-to here would be the vegetable udon with added kaarage chicken at the Lucky Fortune Cookery. On my most recent visit, I opted not to return to this favorite when eating over here and instead ordered from the Aunt Cass Cafe.
The Aunt Cass Cafe is a rethemed version of the Pacific Wharf Cafe. The restaurant remains home to the Boudin Bread Company and the wonderful bread that this sourdough maker provides.
During my recent visit, I ordered the Turkey Pesto Sandwich. Disney describes the sandwich on the menu as roasted turkey breast, pesto aïoli, Havarti, bacon, arugula, and tomato on Dutch crunch bread, served with potato chips.
I ordered the sandwich via Disneyland mobile order because I was in a rush and needed food that I could carry with me if necessary. This spontaneous lunch order turned out to be an accidental reminder of how good the food here is.
The sandwich was served on the perfect Dutch crunch loaf with the crunch on the outside and soft bread on the inside. The mayo-type sauce on the roll was not overdone. The turkey and bacon were plentiful, and the arugula and tomato tasted fresh.
I am moving this sandwich to a strong recommendation. This was a refreshing experience after being somewhat disappointed in one of my favorite quick-service restaurant meals after they recently changed the menu.
There are other highlights of Aunt Cass Cafe that are also a great addition to your order, including seasonal cold brews, Japanese-Style Fluffy Cheesecake, bread pudding, and more. The salads, in particular, are quite refreshing. If you are ready for something a bit denser, the bread bowls are quite delicious. They are quite good, in particular, on colder evenings. If you have a picky eater, the Creamy Mac & Cheese in a bread bowl is bound to go over well, and the seasonal soups are often also strong choices.
Just outside the restaurant, you can also purchase the bread that is baked in the shape of characters. Here is a look at the Baymax Bread. How cute is this? Overall, there are so many great options here that make it a worthwhile stop, especially if you need to grab something quick.
