Celebrate Gospel Concerts at Downtown Disney

Disneyland is hosting its annual Celebrate Gospel concerts over two weekends in February: February 20-21 and February 27-28. For the first time, performances are taking place on the Downtown Disney LIVE! Stage and are open to the public without theme park admission.

Grammy Award-winning gospel artists Bishop Hezekiah Walker (February 21) and Yolanda Adams (February 28) will headline. Community choirs from across Southern California are also scheduled to perform during the event both weekends.

As part of Black History Month, Disneyland Resort has introduced a heritage trail featuring displays across the resort. The displays highlight influential Black leaders, artists, and creatives from the past and present.

Locations include Frontierland, Main Street, U.S.A., and Buena Vista Street, among other areas. Featured individuals include Leah Chase at Tiana’s Place, Martha Blanding on Main Street, U.S.A., and Disney animator Floyd Norman on Buena Vista Street. Guests can explore the displays throughout February at participating locations.

Select Disneyland Resort dining locations are offering limited-time menu items through March 2 in recognition of Black History Month.

At Tiana’s Palace, guests can order the French Quarter Fried Chicken Bowl, featuring honey-glazed fried chicken with baked macaroni and cheese and collard greens.

At Lamplight Lounge- Boardwalk Dining, the New Orleans BBQ Shrimp features Cajun-battered shrimp served with polenta, onions, peppers, celery, and a New Orleans-style BBQ butter sauce.

Television personality Toya Johnson-Rushing recently appeared at Magic Kingdom as part of Walt Disney World’s Black History Month programming.

Johnson-Rushing served as grand marshal of a special cavalcade on Main Street, U.S.A., joined by Mickey Mouse and her daughter, Reign. The appearance marked the launch of the resort’s February festivities. During her visit, Johnson-Rushing and her family also experienced several attractions, including Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and a meet-and-greet with Princess Tiana.

Throughout February, EPCOT highlights several Black artists during the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts. Celebrated Black artists include Yesenia Mouses, Ryan Riller, Larissa Brown, and Mark Page. Their work is displayed during the festival, and admission is included with regular park admission.

DISNEY ON BROADWAY Concert Series at EPCOT

The DISNEY ON BROADWAY Concert Series returns to EPCOT as part of the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts. Performances take place at the America Gardens Theatre.

Black artists Jelani Remy (The Lion King), Anastasia McCleskey (Tarzan), Kissy Simmons (The Lion King), and James Monroe Iglehart (Aladdin) have all performed this year. The concert series runs on select evenings during the festival and is included with regular park admission.

Guests can enjoy live entertainment throughout Disney’s Animal Kingdom this February. Viva Gaia presents a Caribbean-style street party on Discovery Island with music and dance performances. In the Africa section of the park, the Tam Tam Drummers of Harambe perform percussion shows throughout the day. Entertainment is included with regular park admission, and performance times vary.

Limited-Time Food Offerings at Walt Disney World

Walt Disney World Resort is offering select limited-time food items in recognition of Black History Month.

At the Ganachery in Disney Springs, the Soulful New York Cheesecake pop features layers of cheesecake ganache and graham cracker ganache coated in 65% dark chocolate. It is available through February 28.

At Amorette’s Patisserie in Disney Springs, the Wakandan Mousse includes coconut mousse, guava gelee, and chocolate sable. It is also available through February 28.
