Disneyland’s Fanciest Restaurant Just Became More Accessible With Big Change

The Disneyland Resort’s most upscale restaurant has implemented a major change, introducing a more accessible option for guests. This dining location is considered the “culinary crown jewel” of the Disneyland Resort hotels and recently underwent an extensive renovation to elevate the space and menu offerings.

Disneyland’s Fanciest Restaurant Now Offering À La Carte

Sauteéd Seasonal Fish Napa Rose

The Napa Rose is an award-winning signature fine dining experience at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel, and we consider it to be one of the best Disneyland restaurants due to the incredible atmosphere and quality of food.

The Napa Rose historically offered a four-course prix fixe tasting menu only for the Main Dining Room and a separate à la carte menu for its lounge featuring small plates and other offerings. However, the Main Dining Room and Outdoor Terrace now offer à la carte menu offerings, not just the $188 Chef’s Tasting Menu.

With this change, the Napa Rose dining experience just became much more accessible in price. During our recent visit to enjoy the renovated space and menu, my partner and I agreed that this was one of the best dining experiences of our lives, but lamented that it was too expensive to justify going back given the costly prix fixe. Now, we would absolutely go back, which is likely the type of guest response that Disney intended with this change.

Disneyland is constantly adjusting experiences based on guest feedback and behavior. Though we do not know the exact reason why they made this change, we can assume that this move is aimed at increasing demand by making the Main Dining Room experience more accessible in price.

Right now, if you look at the website, there is lots of reservation availability even day-of. For example, see the availability for today, only a few hours out. We anticipate that this may change as people catch on to the fact that à la carte is now an option.

In addition to the two options for the Main Dining Room and Outdoor Terrace (ordering à la carte or opting for the $188 Chef’s Tasting Menu), there are a few other options available to guests. The Chef’s Counter remains at $250 (prix fixe only), and the lounge offers a separate à la carte menu for walk-ups. Wine pairings are also available in various tiers: $125, $300, and $500.

It’s important to note the cancellation policy. For the Main Dining Room and Outdoor Terrace, you must cancel at least 2 days prior to your reservation to avoid a prix-fixe-priced cancellation fee of $188 per person.

Napa Rose place setting

While a meal here is still one of the priciest dining options at the resort, it’s absolutely worth it in my opinion if you’re looking to splurge. The food, service, and ambiance are out of this world. This is the perfect place for an anniversary, celebration, or just generally a nice evening. You can see our full recent review of the experience here.
