Disneyland just added new information on a seasonal ride closure for refurbishment. It is common for Disneyland to have closures throughout the early months of the year for seasonal maintenance, as it is one of the least crowded times of the year. This is one of the many Disneyland ride closures in February.

Disney California Adventure Ride Closure End Date
Grizzly River Run closed at Disney California Adventure on January 5, 2026 and is now slated to reopen on March 22, 2026, according to the Disneyland refurbishment calendar. The ride closure is listed to last through March 21, 2026. This water ride has pretty much yearly seasonal closures. This period is notable for having some of the quietest days at Disneyland on our Mickey Visit Disneyland Crowd Calendar.

When the ride closure was announced, we wrote that last year it closed during the same period and reopened in mid-March. As part of this closure, one of our favorite Disneyland secret spots, the walkway that wraps in and behind the ride loading area, is also closed off during this period.
There are not expected to be any material changes to Grizzly River Run during this closure period. Here’s a look at the drained water area of the attraction that we saw at the parks yesterday.
Did you know that when the ride is drained, the water flows over to the “bay” in front of the San Fransokyo seating area? That is the holding area for if they ever need to drain this ride so that they don’t have to flush the water away. So, it becomes “high tide” over there when the ride is drained like this. This also allows them to refill the entire attraction in just a few hours without paying for additional water.

Turning to the other current Disneyland Resort ride closures…
Right now there are also two other ride closures in Disney California Adventure. The Golden Zephyr and Jumpin’ Jellyfish are both closed.
At Disneyland, there are more notable closures. Currently, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is closed and both Jungle Cruise and Space Mountain are slated for closures soon. See the update that Disneyland just gave us on the length of the Rise of the Resistance closure here.

These closures come during a period when Disney California Adventure is celebrating Lunar New Year and then Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival. Lunar New Year runs through February 22, 2026 and the Food & Wine Festival runs from March 6 through April 27, 2026.
