1. The Song in the Queue is Unique

Seven Dwarfs Disney World

The song that plays in the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train queue, Music In Your Soup, was originally created for the Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs animated film. While the song, and scene that it was in, made it all the way to the pencil sketch stages of the film process, it was ultimately cut from the film.

Even though the song is not in the original film, you can listen to it on the Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Original Motion Picture Soundtrack. If you would like to see the scene that was cut from the film, it’s included in the Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs 3-Disc Diamond Edition.

While the song was not used in the original film, it sounds similar enough to the rest of the soundtrack that it fits in perfectly at Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. It’s great that a song that was intended for the Snow White film was able to find purpose in a Snow White attraction.

2. Interactive Water Spigots

The queue for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train has a variety of interactive features. (This is exceptionally nice since the line gets so long!) These hands-on activities are intended to replicate the sorting and washing process of the jewels.

After you sort your jewels, you’ll use water spigots to wash them. However, the spigots in the queue are far from ordinary. So much so that they almost seem magical!

There are 12 spigots in total and each one features a carving of a woodland creature. When you place your hand underneath, the water automatically comes out and plays a musical tune. Each spigot has its own note. If you “play” these notes in order, you’ll hear a familiar melody from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs!

3. The Vault Key

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train sign

In the animated film, when the clock strikes 5, the dwarfs are ready to gather up their treasure and head back home. As they cheerfully sing, “Heigh ho, heigh ho. It’s home from work we go”, we watch as Dopey hurriedly bags up jewels and tosses them into the vault.

After they’re all put away, he shuts the door, locks it, and then starts to walk away with the key. Quickly he remembers that he needs to leave the key, so he turns around and places it on a peg next to the door.

When you enter the inside portion of the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train queue, you’re entering this vault. Take a look to the right of the vault door before you walk through it. You’ll see a peg with a key hanging on it. This is the same key that Dopey used!

4. How to See Snow White

Snow White meet and greet

Once you enter the vault, you’ll see wooden barrels that are full of sparkling, glowing jewels. These barrels are an interactive part of the queue as well! Spin a barrel to cause a reflection of jewels to appear on the ceiling. If you spin it fast enough, one of the seven dwarfs will appear!

There are seven barrels in total. If you get all seven barrels spinning fast enough at the same time, another special character will appear – Snow White!

5. Differences in the Ride Vehicles

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train

As you enter the loading area, you’ll see the mine train that’s going to take you on your journey, as well as the mine cars that it's pulling. These mine cars will serve as your ride vehicle. At first glance, all of these mine cars may look exactly the same – but they’re not!

Actually, not one single mine car is the same as the other. The reasoning for this is because these mine cars are ones that the dwarfs have all constructed by hand. When you have handmade items, there’s always going to be slight differences between them. When it comes to the mine cars, take a look at the bolts, the grain of the wood, and the worn markings on them. Once you keep an eye out for this, you’ll be able to spot tiny differences between each car!

6. Hidden Mickeys

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train

Of course, we can’t talk about hidden secrets without mentioning hidden Mickeys! There are multiple on Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. One of them can be found right inside the mine. When you enter the mine, take a look on your right hand side. Positioned right above Grumpy’s head are three sparkling jewels that form a Mickey head!

The other hidden Mickey follows soon after. This Mickey, however, isn’t your standard three circle Mickey head shape. This one is a full Mickey – and he’s even holding a pick axe! This Mickey can be seen right at the top of the hill as you’re leaving the mine. He’s located on the upper right hand side on the wooden support beam.

7. Remembering a Past Fantasyland Attraction

Snow White's Scary Adventures

When Magic Kingdom first opened, there was a different Snow White ride in Fantasyland – Snow White’s Scary Adventures. This attraction closed just two years prior to the opening of Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.

However, even though this spooky dark ride is no more, pieces of it can still be found within Seven Dwarfs Mine Train! On top of the second hill, you’ll see an old jib crane. Sitting on top of this crane are two vultures. These vultures came directly from Snow White’s Scary Adventures!

More figures that were repurposed from the now extinct ride can be found in the cottage at the end of Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. When you come up to the cottage, you’ll see Snow White and the dwarfs dancing inside. Five of these dwarfs came from Snow White’s Scary Adventures – Grumpy, Doc, Bashful, Sleepy, and Happy.

8. The Mine Cars Sway

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train is a very smooth ride for a roller coaster. It’s an exceptional beginner coaster for little ones. However, even though it’s a family friendly coaster, it’s still thrilling!

The ride vehicles have a lot to do with this. Rather than being fixed into place, the mine cars swing individually from side to side. This makes the twists and turns of the ride even more exhilarating than they normally would be.

If you enjoy more movement during your ride, sit in a mine car towards the end of the train! The further back you are, the more swing your mine car will be able to have.

9. Oswald the Lucky Rabbit

Oswald the Lucky Rabbit

Not only are there hidden Mickeys on Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, there’s also a hidden Oswald! While hidden Mickeys are rather popular, it’s less frequent that you’ll find a hidden Oswald.

Similar to the hidden Mickey in the wood beam, this is a full body image of Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. It can be found in the upper left hand side as you’re exiting the mine. There you’ll see a wooden beam that is sticking out a tad bit farther than the others, and this is where the hidden Oswald can be seen.

10. Jewel Specifics

Throughout your time at Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, you will see a mass amount of jewels – both in the queue and within the attraction itself. While this collection of jewels may seem random, it’s actually not! There are four different sizes and six different colors – red, purple, blue, green, yellow, and clear.
