Universal Orlando appreciates the sacrifice and commitment of our U.S. Military men and women. All of us here at Mickey Visit do as well! That’s exactly why we want to give you all of the necessary information about military discounts at Universal Orlando like the Universal Studios Freedom Pass.

For active duty and retired service members, discounts are available for admission, hotel stays, and even vacation packages! In this article, I’m going to provide you with a complete guide to these savings. Follow along as I give an in depth look at the discounts that are available, who’s eligible, and how you can get these discounts applied to your Universal Orlando vacation!

Universal Studios Freedom Pass

For eligible service members, Universal Orlando has exceptional tickets available called the Universal Military Freedom Pass Promotional Ticket. These tickets are essentially an annual pass (minus the perks and benefits that annual passholders receive). With the Military Freedom Pass, U.S. Military members, along with their friends and family, are able to enjoy an unlimited number of visits to Universal Orlando (within a certain time frame).

Purchasing the Universal Studios Freedom Pass

The Military Freedom Pass Ticket is available as a 2-Park or 3-Park ticket. If you choose a 2-Park ticket, you will have access to both Universal Studios Florida and Universal Islands of Adventure on the same day. If you opt for a 3-Park ticket instead, you will have access to Universal Studios Florida, Universal Islands of Adventure, and Universal Volcano Bay on the same day.

Those who are considered eligible service members are:

• Active Duty (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, National Guard, Reservists) and spouses
• Retired Military service members and spouses
• Department of Defense Civilians

Military Freedom Pass Promotional Tickets are available for purchase at Authorized Military Ticket & Travel Offices only. To find your Military Ticket & Travel Office location, click here. In order to make your purchase, you must present your current military or Department of Defense ID. Eligible service members who purchase the Military Freedom Pass tickets are able to purchase and activate up to six of these promotional tickets.

Cost of Military Freedom Pass Promotional Tickets:

• 2-Park Ticket – $210/Adult, $205/Child
• 3-Park Ticket – $245/Adult, $240/Child

Military Freedom Pass tickets must be activated prior to your first visit to a Universal Orlando theme park with your Military Freedom Pass. This can be done at the front gate ticket window. You will be required to present a valid military ID in order for ticket activation to take place. Make sure to keep that ID handy! You’ll also need to present your ID in order to enter the theme park. The eligible service member that purchased the Military Freedom Pass tickets MUST be present with any friends or family members that are using the tickets at the time of the first visit.

2024 Military Freedom Pass Promotional Tickets are valid now through December 20th, 2024.

More Military Ticket Info

If you know that you won’t be visiting Universal Orlando frequently and aren’t interested in getting the Military Freedom Pass, that’s ok! There are other options available for you. At most Military Ticket & Travel Offices, you’ll be able to choose from a variety of Universal Orlando ticket options. Most Military Ticket & Travel Offices offer 1-Park Per Day Tickets, 2-Park Tickets, and 3-Park Tickets. All of these should be available in 1- to 5-day increments.

With 1-Park Per Day Tickets, you’ll choose whether you want to visit Universal Studios Florida, Universal Islands of Adventure, or Universal Volcano Bay in a single day. If you choose 2-Park Tickets, you will be able to visit both Universal Studios Florida and Universal Islands of Adventure on the same day. Lastly, if you choose a 3-Park Ticket, you will be able to visit Universal Studios Florida, Universal Islands of Adventure, and Universal Volcano Bay on the same day.

Universal Express Pass for Military Members

Express Pass is Universal Orlando’s version of a fast pass system. It allows visitors to skip past regular stand-by lines and go directly to a prioritized line at select rides and attractions. Unfortunately, Universal doesn’t offer a military discount on this. However, if you're a service member who wants Express Pass, you are able to purchase it separately and use it along with your tickets or Military Freedom Pass. 

You also have the option to receive Universal Express Pass for FREE by staying at one of Universal Orlando’s Premier Hotels. By staying at Loews Portofino Bay Hotel, Hard Rock Hotel, or Loews Royal Pacific Hotel, you’ll receive Universal Express Unlimited at no additional cost to you. (On average, this saves you about $164.99 per person, per day!)

Universal Hotel Military Discounts

Speaking of hotels, you also have the opportunity to save on stays at Universal Orlando Hotels! As an eligible service member, you can save 40% on stays at Cabana Bay Beach Resort. For all other Universal Orlando Hotels, you can save up to 35% on your stay.

Eligible Service Members for Hotel Discounts:

• Active Member and Spouse
• Retired Member
• 100% Disabled Veteran (with valid Military ID)

Universal Orlando Hotel Military Discounts are not available for Department of Defense and Department of Defense Civilian Employees.

Military Vacation Packages

We now know that Universal Orlando provides discounts on tickets as well as hotel stays for eligible members of the U.S. Military. However, they also offer the convenience of putting these two things together! By combining tickets and a hotel stay, military members can enjoy the convenience of a Universal Orlando vacation package!

There are two different types of vacation packages that military members can choose from: Military Create Your Own Vacation Package or The Wizarding World of Harry Potter Exclusive Vacation Package – Military Special Offer. In order to be able to book one of these packages, you must be an Active Member or Spouse, Retired Member, or a 100% Disabled Veteran (with valid Military ID). Military Create Your Own Vacation Package

As the name suggests, with the Military Create Your Own Vacation Package, you are able to do just that – create your own package. There are multiple factors that can be customized within your vacation package such as your hotel and theme park admission. You’ll also have the opportunity to add on airfare as well as other enhancements!

• 4-Night Hotel Accommodations (At the Universal Hotel of your choice)

How to Book a Universal Orlando Military Vacation Package
