Jeopardy! Salutes Disneyland’s 70th Anniversary

Disneyland is celebrating its 70th anniversary now through August 2026 with new attractions and limited-time entertainment. We share more details about what’s happening for the anniversary at the end of this story.
To honor the occasion, Jeopardy! presented a category titled “Disneyland 70th Celebration” on its April 6, 2026, episode. Host Ken Jennings asked each question, or rather, gave each answer, in Jeopardy! speak, in a prerecorded clip filmed onsite at the park.

Special thanks were attributed in the episode’s credits to the Walt Disney Archives, so we assume the questions may have been curated by that history-focused division of Disney.
The episode’s three contestants each gave at least one Disneyland answer, and they all gave the correct response on their first try. See how you’d do in comparison to them!
Scroll down to the bottom of the article for the hidden answers for each of these questions.
$400 Answer

Answer: “A merry-go-round at LA’s Griffith Park inspired Walt Disney to create his theme park, and Disneyland’s carousel was one of the original attractions. Jingles here was dedicated to Julie Andrews, honoring her role as this classic Disney film character.”
See answer at bottom of article.
Note that while King Arthur Carrousel did indeed open with Disneyland in 1955, Jingles wasn’t dedicated to Julie Andrews until the 2000s. Mary Poppins itself wasn’t released in theaters until nine years after Disneyland opened.
$800 Answer

Answer: “In 2019, Disneyland opened a new land, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, complete with this starship, flown by Han Solo and Chewbacca.”
See answer at bottom of article.
Okay, so we know Han Solo doesn’t fly the Millennium Falcon in the actual ride at Disneyland, but we see how the question may have needed to be simplified for clarity’s sake. Han Solo will, however, make his character debut in Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland on April 29, 2026, as the land expands its timeline to include the original Star Wars trilogy.
$1,200 Answer

Answer: “As envisioned by Walt Disney and his earliest Imagineers, Main Street, U.S.A., with its turn-of-the-century nostalgia, was inspired in part by Walt’s own upbringing in this state. Show me…”

$1,600 Answer

Answer: “One of the original features at Disneyland, one that opened in 1955, Sleeping Beauty Castle drew inspiration from this famous castle in Bavaria.”
See answer at bottom of article.
$2,000 Answer

Answer: “One of Adventureland’s star attractions is the Jungle Cruise, taking you along remote rivers on boats originally inspired by the ones skippered by Humphrey Bogart in this classic film.”
See answer at bottom of article.
Despite Jennings appearing on Jeopardy! episode riding a Jungle Cruise boat in motion, the attraction closed for refurbishment in February 2026 and is still closed. Disney hasn’t announced a reopening date, but we have a prediction about a possible timeline.
Be Part of Disneyland’s 70th Anniversary

Here are all the answers to the trivia questions above:
- Question: Who is Mary Poppins?
- Question: What is the Millennium Falcon?
- Question: What is Missouri?
- Question: What is Neuschwanstein?
- Question: What is The African Queen?
So how’d you do? Would you have earned some cash for your Disneyland knowledge if you’d been competing in this Jeopardy! episode?
Disneyland’s real 70th birthday was July 17, 2025, but the resort’s two theme parks are celebrating the anniversary through August 9, 2026.
As part of the festivities, the beloved Paint the Night parade returned to Disneyland Park, and a new version of the World of Color nighttime water fountain spectacular debuted at Disney California Adventure.
During the celebration, Disney also introduced characters from Pixar’s Coco in “it’s a small world” and debuted the world’s first Audio-Animatronics figure of Walt Disney, both of which will stick around after the anniversary concludes.
