You Can Again Request This Private Disneyland Ride Experience. It’s Still Free!

There are several attractions that have been under refurbishment at Disneyland over the last few months, and one of these has recently reopened with a returning ride experience that has not been available for a while.

The Disneyland Monorail is one of Disneyland's most iconic attractions that has been around since 1959. After about a month-long closure, the Monorail has just reopened with a special ride experience that has been closed since before the pandemic.

Special Ride Experience Returns to Monorail

Monorail at Disneyland

A ride on the Disneyland Monorail is always a fun experience soaking up the sights of the resort along the way, but the ability to ride in the very front of the monorail (the “nose cone”) with the driver hasn't been available since before the pandemic.

This is a wonderful experience where you can take in the full monorail journey from Disneyland Park to the Downtown Disney station while also chatting with the Cast Member. The opportunity to hear from the Cast Member and watch them at work driving the monorail is perhaps the best part of this experience. There are fewer and fewer experiences like this where you get to truly connect with that Cast Member at Disneyland. I'm sure that the working Cast Member also appreciates the opportunity to deliver this rare experience and to connect with guests.

Now, visitors can ride in the nose cone again! This is a super fun experience, especially for families with kids, to ride with the monorail driver and get a unique perspective on the journey seeing it unobstructed from the front. We were worried that after riding in the Lilly Belle became exclusive to tours and paid experiences, the same would happen to this experience, but it has returned and is free to access for guests. That said, I think it would be pretty cool if there was a monorail ride added to the very cool returning behind the scenes tour that just returned to Disneyland earlier this year.

We would also love to see Disneyland bring back the opportunity to go up in the wheelhouse of the Mark Twain Riverboat. It has been a long time since this was offered.

Same as before the experience closed, you can ask a Cast Member at the Monorail station if you can ride in the nose cone, but you may have to wait for this experience if others have already requested it. We're excited to see that this fun experience has returned!

The return of this experience was first reported by Mousekegamer on X. While we hope that this experience remains consistently available, I recommend getting over to Tomorrowland soon to try it out if you are interested as offerings like this are very dependent on staffing and could easily be removed with no notice.
