Our Favorite Secret Disneyland Entrance Line With a Shorter Wait Is Going Away

There are certain hacks we always utilize during our Disneyland trips to save time, and one of our favorites has been entering through a particular entrance line at the front gate that always had a shorter wait than the rest. We previously shared an article on this Disneyland entrance line and where to find it.

It's always challenging to decide which line to use when entering the park, so knowing this secret hack made this choice easy. We found that the line on the right side of the Disneyland entrance behind the planter often ended up branching in two and moved more quickly.

Unfortunately, when entering Disneyland during a visit today, we spotted that our favorite entrance line is now gone! Keep reading for more details.

Favorite Disneyland Entrance Line Gone

Today, we noticed that our favorite Disneyland secret entrance behind the planter is no longer there. Part of the area is currently blocked off by construction walls, and it looks like they have removed the tree.

Here is the other planter across the way that is still in place for now. This is pretty much what the area behind the walls used to look like. I expect that this tree will also be removed once the others are changed.

We suspect that they potentially removed the tree to simplify the arrival process and the flow of the lines. It's hard to tell if there will still be something there, but it appears right now as if the tree is fully removed. Of course, this change is disappointing because we can't utilize our short line hack, but beyond this, placemaking details like these in general are what makes Disneyland a “park.”

Disneyland has teams of industrial engineers who work to ensure that crowds flow efficiently throughout the resort. We saw a lot of this work happening in advance of the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge to widen pathways headed back to the new land.

Unfortunately, that work sometimes leads to small quirky things like a tree that partially blocked an entrance being removed. We understand that there is always a give and take with changes made in the parks but this one is more difficult to understand the improvement this would lead to.
