New Disneyland Sweet Shop Opens Featuring Beloved Disney World Snack For First Time

As part of Downtown Disney's ongoing transformation, several new dining and shopping experiences have recently been introduced to the district, including the two new shops D-Lander and Avengers Reserve as well as Parkside Market with four new dining locations. Today, a popular shop is opening in Downtown Disney in reimagined form.

We also got a sneak peek of another new shop coming to Downtown Disney. We had mentioned in our Mickey Visit Disneyland This Week update how the old Disney Dress Shop has been replaced by a new shop, and now we have more details to share about this new addition.

Reimagined Sweets Shop Opens in Downtown Disney

Disney Wonderful World of Sweets is the reimagined version of the sweets shop Marceline's Confectionary in Downtown Disney. The shop temporarily closed last year and is now reopening with a vibrant new look and some other new changes!

We were in attendance for a media preview this morning before the shop opens to all guests the afternoon of January 22, 2025 at 3 pm.

The Disneyland spokesperson at the opening of the shop said that this concept is based around a concept where “castles are made of confections,” and “the Mark Twain with its lollipops paddle wheel rolls down a river of pink frosting.” Everything is made up of colorful sweets!

Check out the fun windows outside of the Disney Wonderful World of Sweets shop depicting a train made of candy headed towards Marceline, Missouri.

We love the creative decor throughout the shop, like this fun depiction of the “it's a small world” facade.

The Cast Members have some new, colorful costumes for the shop that you can see below!

The packaged sweets are divided by different stories, like villains, Pixar, Mickey and Friends, etc.

Another exciting addition is the first-ever popcorn bucket for the location, named Poppi! Poppi is the mascot of Wonderful World of Sweets, so you will see her throughout the shop. Poppi's name comes from the idea of kernels popping. You can see these cute new popcorn buckets below!

The popcorn buckets are on sale for $29.99 and the bags of popcorn sell for $8.99.

There are also four new character offerings in the case, named Jimmi, Fluffi, Bonni (cake pops), and Lolli (rice krispie treat). You can see these new treats below! These, in addition to a new railroad train cookie, are exclusive to this location.

Werther’s Original Caramel popcorn is also exclusive to this location at Disneyland. This is the same popcorn that is currently only sold at a shop in the Germany pavilion in EPCOT. That is the only place that you can get it in the world. It is extremely popular there and will be popular here also.

The location has a new kitchen with Werther's Original popcorn. You can see a glimpse at this being made below:

One of the most fun parts about this shop is the exhibition kitchens where you can watch the sweets being made!

This reimagining brings a fresh take on this popular candy shop. We love the vibrant decor, fun new characters, and new offerings added to the space!

NEW Disney Storyland Boutique Details

We also got to walk through the new Disney Storyland Boutique location as part of our media preview but no photos or video was allowed in there.

Disney shared that Disney Storyland Boutique will rotate with different themes. Right now, the theme is centered around everything cute and cuddly. The environment, products, and decor will continuously evolve to tell a new story.

There are new brands that have just been launched like Disney Mix-Its, as well as the Japan Disney store line Sakura that you won't find anywhere else domestically.

You'll also find the popular Create Your Own Headband here!

You'll also find cuddly characters like Stitch, Pooh, and Baymax right now.

The store will likely rotate its offerings on a quarterly basis. It will be opening at 9 a.m. this Friday!

More New Downtown Disney Experiences

In addition to Disney Wonderful World of Sweets, there are a few more locations that recently opened in Downtown Disney. A few weeks ago, Parkside Market made its debut, a food hall featuring Sip & Sonder, Seoul Sister, and the second-story bar Vista Parkside Market.

D-Lander opened last month in Downtown Disney, and the new destination is already a hit with several popular Disney adult brands.

The shop features co-branded collections highlighting popular brands like Kate Spade, Dooney & Bourke, the popular CRISLU jewelry that Disney adults will wait hours for,  Lululemon, Loungefly, and more.

Avengers Reserve also recently opened last month in Downtown Disney, offering collectibles, apparel, accessories, toys, and comics featuring favorite superheroes.

This fun shop features character sculptures like the Hulk, Captain Marvel, Groot, Black Panther, and more! We love the Hulk sculpture smashing through the wall outside the entrance.

In addition to the wide selection of merchandise, the lively space is filled with decorative touches like statues, artwork, and authentic film props.
