New Disney World Lake-Front Resort Announced! OPENING Period, Name, & Details

There are many exciting new additions in store for Disney World in the coming years, including several new Disney World rides and major expansions like the Monsters Inc. land coming to Hollywood Studios, a Villains Land coming to Magic Kingdom, and much more.

Disney has now just announced a new Disney World Resort and its projected opening! This new resort replaces a former project that was previously paused due to the 2020 theme park closures.

New Disney World Resort Details Revealed

Disney has revealed that there will be a new Disney Vacation Club property at Disney World along the shores of Bay Lake inspired by “the majesty of nature and its enduring influence on Disney artists.”

The Disney Lakeshore Lodge will be located in the same footprint as the previously announced project “Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge resort.” Construction is currently underway for this new resort that is projected to open in 2027, and more details will be announced later on.

Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge resort was previously announced in 2018, but work on the project was paused due to the pandemic. Disney's former water park that had been abandoned, River Country, was demolished to make way for this new resort near Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort.
