National Geographic previously created a series about the development of the Disney Wish cruise ship and now they are back with another new special looking at Disney's latest ship.
We really enjoyed the Disney Wish special so wanted to share the details on this new special with you and call it out as a wonderful watch for Disney fans.
The series goes behind-the-scenes during the building process and finalization of the offerings onboard the ship. This is a super well produced series that gives a great look.

New Nat Geo Series About Disney Treasure Cruise Ship
National Geographic has announced that this new show “Magic of the Disney Treasure” will bring viewers into the process of making the new ship.
The show is officially described as: “Go behind the scenes into the adventurous worlds of Disney Cruise Line’s new ship, the Disney Treasure. From rehearsal to premiere, voyage with Moana in the film’s first Broadway-style adaptation. Experience the inspiration behind bringing the world of “Coco” to life. And get a glimpse into the realm of illusions creating grim grinning ghosts on the high seas.”
The show will debut on the National Geographic channel on March 28th and then stream the next day on Disney+ and Hulu. The National Geographic TV station and films became part of the Walt Disney Company when they acquired assets from 21st Century FOX.
I sailed onboard the Disney Treasure and shared my full review of what's great and bad about the ship in our complete Disney Treasure cruise ship review.
At the opening of the show it is called out that the special was paid for and made in collaboration with Disney Cruise Line. That's a requirement for National Geographic to ensure they maintain their high editorial standards. ABC does something similar when they create a Disney-related report though this feels even more explicit.
When Disney previously launched the Disney Wish cruise ship they also had Nat Geo create a documentary special about the ship. I remember watching that special and really appreciating the work that went into creating it and the high quality documentary work to capture the launch of the ship.
This is definitely a show that I will be watching and something that I hope Disney does even more moving forward. They have a fantastic documentarian group now part of the Disney company so why wouldn't they engage them on their biggest projects to document.
The show gives off the same high-quality approach that “The Imagineering Story” does on Disney Plus. We highly recommend that series and also the new behind-the-scenes YouTube series from Disney Imagineering.
