Universal Orlando: Mythos Review- Best Universal Dining

Universal Orlando‘s Mythos restaurant is one of the most popular dining options inside the Universal theme parks. Mythos is located in Universal's Islands of Adventure right between two of the most popular rides: the new Jurassic World Velicoaster and Hagrid's Magical Creatures. This sit down dining experience is considered the BEST theme park dining at Universal. See why people rave about this spot in my Mythos dining review.

Mythos does take dining reservations on the Universal website. I highly recommend making a reservation before your visit because it's rare for walk ups to be available. You can modify your reservation after you make it if need be so it's good to just grab a date/time as early as you know you'll be visiting.

Universal Orlando: Mythos Review

Mythos Restaurant inside Universal Orlando offers a menu of Greek, American, Mediterrian, and other global dishes in a Greece themed atmosphere. Some of the most well-known entrees at Mythos include the pan roasted salmon with mint oil and spicy tomato-fennel broth, the cranberry blue cheese crusted pork loin with apple-brandy demi-glace and the chicken and shrimp pad Thai noodles in sweet and sour peanut sauce. Mythos Restaurant also offers a variety of sandwiches, burgers, blackened fish tacos, and more.

I reserved our lunch spot via Open Table about a month before our visit and had plenty of options to pick from. I'm glad I had a reservation because on the day of our visit the parks were crowded and they were turning away many groups without reservations. There's not many restaurants inside the Universal theme parks that take reservations so it was a nice way to break up our day and get a break.

Mythos review inside of restaurant

The themed atmosphere of Mythos makes it another fun choice for theme park dining with the wide windows offering a great view of the Hulk coaster and water fountains all throughout the interior.

Universal Mythos Review

The exterior of the restaurant appears more of a park attraction than a restaurant with rock formations and waterfalls. This same theme continues into the interior with carved figures on the walls and ceiling.

Universl Orlando Mythos dining review

The interior of Mythos is themed like a large cave that aims to replicate the atmosphere of an oceanside grotto. There is also outdoor esating where you can take in great views of Islands of Adventure.

Mythos Review Dining Experience

We both ordered the Heart of Romaine Caesar for the salad which has crisp romaine, roasted plum tomato, charred pita, house made Caesar dressing, and shaved Parmesan. It was a decent salad, as far as salads go!

Overall, this is a dining experience at Universal Orlando I would do again. It was great to take a break in a sit down restaurant and relax in the middle of our day. The food was excellent, the staff were accommodating to our dietary needs, and the atmosphere fits the Islands of Adventure theme.
