Hatbox Ghost Coming to Disney World OPENING, Plus NEW Haunted Mansion Food Disneyland
At the 2022 D23 Expo, Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products Chairman Josh D’Amaro announced that the Hatbox Ghost would be added to Walt Disney World’s Haunted Mansion. This popular character has been part of the Disneyland Resort Haunted Mansion since 2015. In celebration of the new Haunted Mansion film, we have news on the details of the Hatbox ghost at Walt Disney World plus new Haunted Mansion-themed treats coming to Disneyland and Disney World.

Hatbox Ghost Coming to Disney World Haunted Mansion OPENING!
We now have official details on where in the Haunted Mansion attraction at Disney World the popular Hatbox Ghost will be added and and when it will be added.
At the Destination D23 event, it was shared that that he will appear for the first time in late November. Disney clarified that the Hatbox Ghost will not be the 1000th resident of the Haunted Mansion, as he was part of the original 100 and then left quickly after the mansion was discovered by “foolish mortals.”
The Hatbox Ghost will appear to guests as they pass the Endless Hallway as he “welcomes himself inside from the swinging wake in the cemetery and grinning at the Doom Buggies as they set off deeper into the mansion.” Guests will see temporary barriers in this area of the attraction as Disney works on adding him to the ride.
The HatBox Ghost will materialize in the Haunted Mansion “later this year” at Walt Disney World.
This is not the only new place where guests will see the Hatbox Ghost. He is also featured in the new Haunted Mansion film, played by Jared Leto, which is now playing in theaters.

There is a new Haunted Mansion Inspired Pre-Fixe Menu available at Café Orleans featuring the Vanilla Mousse and Seafood Boil, both pictured above.
April-December Churro at the New Orleans Square Churro Cart: Strawberry-flavored sugar with fresh strawberries, purple cherry sugar, freeze-dried strawberries, and donut icing drizzle
Constance Concoction at Harbour Galley: Potato and leek soup topped with pea flower crème fraiche, herb oil, and fried leeks served in a sourdough bread bowl
Crystal Ball Cereal Treat at Candy Palace and Candy Kitchen: Cereal treat in black-colored dark chocolate with teal and black M&M’S embellished with a Madame Leota chocolate piece #MoviesWithMars
Pickwick Ghost Punch at Royal Street Veranda and Harbour Galley: A Combination of fruit, citrus juices, and sherbet (Non-alcoholic)
And of course, the new Hatbox Ghost Sipper is available at select locations in New Orleans Square and Critter Country.
Walt Disney World Haunted Mansion Food Guide
Walt Disney World is also receiving a few speciality food items in celebration of the Haunted Mansion.
Playful Spirits Margarita featuring Patron Silver Tequila with a Fess Parker Big Easy Red Floater and Mickey-shaped Caretakers Beignets dusted with Cookies and Cream Powdered Sugar and a ghoulish Marshmallow Crème drizzle. Both can be found inside Scat Cat’s Club at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter.
Peanut Butter and Jelly Push Pop with a Chocolate Tombstone at Sleepy Hollow inside Magic Kingdom Park.
Happy Haunts Shake at Columbia Harbor House inside Magic Kingdom Park: Blackberry shake topped with purple chocolate-glazed doughnut covered with black sprinkles.
Haunted Mansion Portrait Bars at The Ganachery inside Disney Springs: Chocolate Ganache Bars with edible image. Bar Flavors: pistachio, salted caramel, chipotle, passion fruit.
Haunted Mansion Costume Display
For a limited time, there will be a collection of concept art, props, and costumes from the new “Haunted Mansion” film at the Opera House inside The Disneyland Story presenting Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln at Disneyland. This collection also includes the ornate dress worn by Madame Leota (played by Jamie Lee Curtis) in the film.
A similar display of props and costumes will be coming to Walt Disney Presents Theater at Disney’s Hollywood Studios park soon at Walt Disney World.
