Frozen Ever After Reopening Date Announced Following Audio-Animatronic Upgrades

One of the most popular Walt Disney World attractions, Frozen Ever After, recently closed so work could begin on upgrading the Audio-Animatronics for the ride. This EPCOT attraction is one of the most in-demand Lightning Lane offerings in the park, and guests have anxiously been awaiting news of a reopening date so they can plan their selections.

Disney has just revealed the reopening date for Frozen Ever After, which will reopen with brand new Audio-Animatronics. Frozen Ever After Reopening Date Revealed

Disney World has revealed that Frozen Ever After will reopen on February 12, 2026, at EPCOT. The popular attraction will be eligible for guests during Early Entry on its reopening date and will be available for Lightning Lane Multi Pass selections.

The ride previously closed on January 26, 2026, for a major upgrade to the Audio-Animatronics in the ride. This is an extremely short turnaround for this upgrade, which is great news, especially since this ride is such a major draw at EPCOT. Great work on Disney’s part to get this upgrade completed in under three weeks.

Disney announced in October 2025 that they were planning to upgrade the Audio-Animatronics of Anna, Elsa, and Kristoff to match the technology used at World of Frozen in Hong Kong Disneyland. These figures use traditional technology for their facial features, not projections. You can see the side-by-side comparison in the image above.

The projection faces of these Audio-Animatronics really detracted from the experience compared to the other animatronics in the parks. If the projections for these animatronics stalled or had technical issues, the entire Audio-Animatronic face could go blank. Since the upgraded Audio-Animatronics were revealed at World of Frozen in Hong Kong Disneyland, fans have consistently asked for this change to come to EPCOT. The update shows Disney paying attention to guest feedback and following through. I imagine demand will be higher than normal for Frozen Ever After when it reopens, so plan your Lightning Lane selections accordingly.

Looking ahead, Disney has another notable EPCOT update planned for 2026. Soarin’ Across America will temporarily replace Soarin’ Around the World as part of the celebration of the United States’ 250th anniversary. The limited-time version is expected to highlight iconic American landmarks while giving Disney a way to connect EPCOT to the celebration. Soarin’ Across America is expected to debut at EPCOT by Memorial Day.
