New Walt Disney World Lounge Opening Soon Will Be Adults Only

There’s not many places for just adults at Walt Disney World since the theme parks are structured to be family friendly. While you can find a few adult only exclusive dining experiences at the resorts, there’s not many options inside the theme parks themselves.

Well, Walt Disney World is in the process of adding two new themed lounges to their theme parks and one of these lounges will be exclusively for adults!

Let’s get into the details announced for this new adults only lounge opening soon at Walt Disney World.

This new adults only lounge will be called GEO-82 and features views of both the World Celebration gardens and World Showcase Lagoon from inside Spaceship Earth. This new lounge is exclusively for guests 21 and older. This lounge will feature “innovative cocktails” along with “globally influenced” small plates.

While some families might not appreciate the adults only barrier, I think this makes sense in a theme park like EPCOT which is easily the most popular theme park for adults. There are not many experiences that are adult only at Walt Disney World and this gives Disney a new opportunity to cater to adults spending a day in EPCOT enjoying the popular year round festivals.

It will also be nice to have a space that is easy to access for adults and is not quite as high dollar as some of the other adult only offerings at Walt Disney World.

Families shouldn’t worry about too many adult only experiences coming to Walt Disney World though, Disney has confirmed that the Pirates of the Caribbean lounge opening “later this year” at Magic Kingdom will be all ages.

The atmosphere of the lounge will feature warm metallic tones and rich textures as its inspiration of the “stories, shapes, and enduring legacy” of the icon Spaceship Earth.

Based on the concept art above, it’s likely guests will be able to watch the EPCOT fireworks from inside the lounge and I imagine the lounge might play the accompanying music track for the show. This is a great option for guests that want to experience the EPCOT nighttime spectaculars in a more casual way.

No specific opening date has been announced but Walt Disney World has shared that the lounge will open “this year.” This is a different distinction than the Pirates of the Caribbean lounge which continues to be referred to as opening as “later this year” meaning GEO-82 will likely open first.
