You Can Skip These EPCOT Snacks, But You Must Try These Can’t-Miss Ones Instead!

When most people think of Epcot, they think of rides, characters, and the famous ball landmark. However, one of the most fun parts of visiting Epcot is getting to try all of the delicious snacks that the various eateries around the park and resort have to offer.

EPCOT has a host of amazing snacks that will enhance your trip and leave your taste buds satisfied.

With so many snack options around EPCOT, it can be somewhat overwhelming to decide what to eat. That's where we come in! Below, check out a full rundown of which snacks are well worth the splurge and which you can skip at EPCOT.

Snacking Your Way Around EPCOT

There’s no shortage of deliciousness to be had at EPCOT, and most of it can be found in the World Showcase section of the park. Artfully centered around a lagoon, this part of the park features 11 different pavilions, each themed to a different country. While a few of the pavilions have rides (Norway, France, and Mexico), most of them are all about the food, drink, and ambiance. That makes EPCOT the perfect park to visit when you want delicious food, yummy drinks, and a whole lot of fun.

In this article, we’ll first discuss which EPCOT snacks you can skip. Let's face it, eating your way around EPCOT can get pricey, and there's only so much room in your stomach, so you want to allocate your funds and hunger accordingly.

From there, we dive into the good stuff: which snacks you should make sure you try as you’re exploring EPCOT. With that being said, not all snacks are created equal! Read on to discover which snacks you should skip over and which you should prioritize trying the next time you become a world traveler around the unforgettable EPCOT!

Skip: Jumbo Pretzel in Germany

All of the beer carts in the Germany pavilion in EPCOT offer an appropriately paired jumbo pretzel. This is a big, shareable snack that runs at about $10. While there's nothing bad about the pretzel, there isn't anything too exciting about it either. You can grab spicy mustard to dip it in, but they don't have a side of cheese sauce, so in my opinion, it can seem a little plain when you're eating it. At that price, there are so many other snacks at EPCOT that are more unique and tastier.

Skip: Werther’s Original Snickerdoodle Sandwich in Germany

Available at Karamell-Küche in Germany, this sweet treat costs $6.99. This is another shareable item, as it's pretty sizable. It's made up of two big Snickerdoodle cookies with Snickerdoodle icing paired with caramel in the center. Sounds delicious, right?

Well, even for those with a large sweet tooth, this treat is overly sweet. Although the Snickerdoodle Sandwich is at a great price point for its size, there are so many other sweet confections worth trying during your visit, so skip this one for something more balanced in its flavor profile.

Skip: Funnel Cakes

Sweets lovers always seem to gravitate towards funnel cake, and EPCOT always serves them! Conveniently, there's an entire stand dedicated to them in World Showcase.

During different times of the year, you can find different versions of funnel cakes offered to celebrate various festivals and holidays. While many of these funnel cake offerings are indeed yummy, some tend to be way too sweet. It's also not a cheap snack, usually coming in at around $13 per serving. With that being said, there are so many other sweets around EPCOT that are better balanced and where you'll get more bang for your buck.

Skip: Dole Whip

Dole Whip is a Walt Disney World staple snack, and it's offered at the Refreshment Outpost in EPCOT (and other spots during certain times of year). However, given how many amazing and unique snacks World Showcase has to offer in EPCOT, it's worth skipping this classic and saving a serving of Dole Whip to enjoy at another park.

Skip: Regular Ice Cream

From enjoying ice cream in a martini, coffee, or nestled into a brioche bun (keep reading to learn more!), ordering ice cream in just a cone or a boring old cup may end up feeling like a waste when you're visiting EPCOT.

Skip a run-of-the-mill ice cream order and instead indulge your sweet tooth with something more unforgettable and delicious! You can see one of our favorite ice cream options below.

Skip: Fish & Chips in United Kingdom

You can eat like you're across the pond at Yorkshire County Fish Shop in the UK pavilion at EPCOT. While this is a solid snack that comes in a large portion for about $13, it might not be the best use of your money or belly space.

If you're really craving fish and chips, you can get a better version at Rose and Crown, which is the sit-down restaurant in the same pavilion. This particular quick (or counter) service version can sometimes be too greasy and taste under-seasoned, depending on the batch. So, consider skipping this one in lieu of more of a sure bet of a snack.

Must Try: Bacon and Cheese Roll in France

Now that we've discussed the snacks you'll want to skip, we will move on to the snacks that you should specifically seek out during your visit to EPCOT. First up is the bacon and cheese roll at the Les Halles Boulangerie Patisserie in France. This savory snack is huge and absolutely delicious!

Featuring a generous portion of bacon and cheese, it is full of flavor and flakiness in the best way. You can even get this snack warmed up, which is highly recommended for maximum enjoyment. The bacon and cheese roll is absolutely delicious and sure to fill you up!

Must Try: Brioche Ice Cream Sandwich in France

I promised more information on fun ways to enjoy ice cream in EPCOT, and I'm delivering on that here! This ice cream sandwich can also be found in France at L'Artisan des Glaces. This is a unique and amazing way to have an ice cream sandwich.

You get to choose which flavor of ice cream you want as well as a decadent sauce. Then, it's pressed between a buttery and soft brioche bun. Watch as your customized ice cream sandwich is finished to perfection in a warm press. Once you have one of these, no other ice cream sandwich will compare! It’s a little pricey for an ice cream, coming in at over $7. However, in my opinion, it’s well worth the price!

Must Try: Loaded Burnt End Fries in America

Next up is another savory snack, which you can find at Regal Eagle Smokehouse in The American Adventure pavilion. This delectable snack includes a hefty helping of seasoned French fries.

It doesn't end there, though. The fries are topped with macaroni and cheese, crispy onion rings, and delicious burnt-end pieces. This is another snack that's very shareable or great to help one hungry person fuel up for more fun! While it is another pricey snack at about $13, it’s so large that it’s worth it because it’s easy to share or to eat as its own meal.

Must Try: School Bread in Norway

This is one of the most coveted EPCOT snacks, and for good reason! Head to Kringle Bakeri Og Kafe in Norway to indulge in this delicious confection. Especially if you love coconut-flavored foods, this is a must-try.

Made up of a sweet and soft bread roll that's covered in icing and toasted coconut, the real surprise of this item is at its core. The bread has a rich vanilla custard in the middle. However, this treat is definitely not too sweet, making it a beloved EPCOT favorite. It’s also pretty affordable, running about $5 for a serving.

Must Try: Mickey-shaped Liquid Nitro Cake at Swirled Showcase

This is another sweet snack that came around for EPCOT's Food and Wine Festival and also remained as part of the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays! That's a positive thing, as this treat is nothing short of divine.

This treat can be compared to a cake pop. It uses a liquid nitrogen freezing technique to keep it cold in the Florida sunshine, which is a fun touch. It's pretty rich and has a brownie-like consistency. It's also covered with yummy chocolate and crunchy candies, enhancing its texture. Coming in at under $5, this is a huge serving that you could easily share if you're just looking for a taste of something sweet. Plus, it's served on a lollipop stick. What could be more fun than that?

Must Try: Sicilian Pizza Slice in Italy

This snack is not only delicious, but it feels like you've truly scored when you're able to snag it! Located at Pizza al Taglio in the Italy Pavilion, this is the walk-up pizza window. The kicker? No one can pinpoint when this pizza window will be open, as it opens seasonally during peak periods. So, if you happen upon it when it's open, take that as your sign to grab a slice!

When it is open, the window serves up thick, delicious slices of Sicilian-style pizza. These are large slices at about $9, which is definitely worth it for a cheesy and filling snack!
