Downtown Disney Construction Update—New Earl of Sandwich and Tortilla Jo’s Replacement Making Progress

There are some major new additions in the works in Downtown Disney as the shopping and dining district continues to expand with new offerings! Right now, there are a couple of active construction sites in Downtown Disney once again, as a new two-story Earl of Sandwich and steakhouse and barbecue eatery are in the works.

Downtown Disney Construction Updates

On the west side of Downtown Disney, construction is in progress for the two-story Earl of Sandwich. This is still in the early stages of construction, and the beams of the building are visible.

You can see the details that Disney previously revealed for this new space, which will feature an Earl of Sandwich on the ground level and a new table-service concept on the second floor called The Carnaby Tavern.

Here is a look at the construction from a little further away with the structure of the building more clearly visible.

The other construction site in Downtown Disney is the former Tortilla Jo's building, which is being transformed into a steakhouse and barbecue eatery by Michelin-starred Chef Joe Isidori. Construction walls are currently up around the perimeter of the building as you can see below.

The building is currently looking a little beaten up from the front, and much of the work taking place is not yet visible.

When we visited, we heard most of the construction noise happening in the back corner to the right of the building.
