We're at the height of summer at Disneyland right now with the 70th anniversary celebration in full swing! At Mickey Visit, we visit the parks regularly and have some updates to share regarding a recently reopened attraction, construction of new restaurants in Downtown Disney, Single Rider added to one of our favorite rides, and more changes at the park.
Keep reading for a photo update of what's happening right now at Disneyland! You can also check out our Mickey Visit Disneyland This Week update, which has information on key dates, news you may have missed, crowds predictions, and more each week.

Disneyland Parks Updates
At Disneyland Park, the marquee for the Main Street Opera House has been updated to reflect the two shows that will be playing here. After the upcoming Walt Disney – A Magical Life show featuring the first-ever lifelike Walt Disney animatronic completes its initial run, it will alternate with the Great Moments With Mr. Lincoln show. This show will debut alongside a new verse added to “it's a small world” next week on July 17, on the park's anniversary date.

Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room just reopened after an extended closure. The garden is looking refreshed, and some elements have been repainted. The Tangaroa Tree has been completely rebuilt and is now back in working order again as part of the pre-show in the garden area.
In New Orleans Square, an interesting development happened recently. The Port Royal Curios and Curiosities shop that had been repurposed into a themed seating area is now a shop again! We are not sure why exactly this change happened, but you can see more details and our musings on some of the potential reasons why Disney may have done this in our separate article here. Here is a look at the reopened shop below.
We spoke to a Cast Member, who said this store will be focused on Nightmare Before Christmas merchandise, while the new Haunted Mansion store near the ride will be focused on Haunted Mansion merchandise. They also mentioned they were testing the area as a seating spot to see if it did well. We were kind of happy to see that there would be more seating in the land, and it did look pretty full whenever we passed by, but it may have just not been popular enough to warrant that change longer-term.
Meanwhile, nearby at Pirates of the Caribbean, the line is flowing much more quickly now. The ride was added as a “temporary” Lightning Lane Multi Pass last year due to the construction happening in the area at Tiana's Bayou Adventure and the Haunted Mansion, but it stuck around for much longer than we anticipated and had some negative impacts on the flow of the standby line. Now, we are seeing a dramatically shorter wait.
In general, the crowds were super low when we visited. As you can see below, Pirates of the Caribbean only had a 10-minute wait during the numerous times we walked past it.
Indiana Jones Adventure is now offering Single Rider, which has not been available at the ride for a few years! You'll be given these giant, brightly colored passes and enter through the exit of the attraction. See the process of using Single Rider and how it works in our separate article here.
Meanwhile, at Disney California Adventure, construction on Avengers Campus is continuing. We like that they do the Stark Industries theming on the construction walls when work is taking place. It's a fun touch that restores just a little bit of the immersion that is taken away when construction is happening at the parks.
We're still a long way from the completion of this project. You can check out our article breaking down when this expansion will likely be completed, along with our prediction of when other new rides will open at Disney California Adventure.
Downtown Disney Updates
Construction is chugging along at Downtown Disney as well! Here is a look at the progress for the two-story Earl of Sandwich in development, which will feature a quick-service Earl of Sandwich on the ground level and a table-service gastropub upstairs called The Carnaby Tavern.
The building is currently covered in scrim, so we can't see too much of what is going on right now, but the Downtown Disney projects generally over the past couple of years have moved at a pretty quick pace.
Right next to this construction, the new bath and body products store, Nectar Life, now has its sign up. This location will feature a custom blending bar to create a personal fragrance for products, and it will be Necar Life's first location with a customization bar where visitors can create their own milkshake bath soaks and whipped soap. When Disney originally announced this store at the beginning of April, they shared it would be opening “later this year.”

Meanwhile, the former Tortilla Jo's building has been completely razed. This site will be home to the new Arthur & Sons Steak and Bourbon and Pearl's Roadside BBQ quick service location by Michelin-starred Chef Joe Isidori.
There is still nothing that has gone vertical yet for these two new locations. The process of demolishing the former Tortilla Jo's building was extensive and took a while to complete. Now, it looks like they are just about getting ready to start shifting gears to the construction of these two new locations.
At World of Disney, some Halloween merch is popping up ahead of the celebration's start date next month! You can see more details about the Haunted Mansion collection coming soon in our separate article here.
