Disneyland Announces Show Replacement, New Character, and More Returning Entertainment

Disneyland has announced a new show, a new Toy Story character experience, and some returning entertainment that will be coming this spring.

The announcement of these new offerings follows news we received last week about the cancellation of the current Disney Junior show and Avengers Assemble in Disney California Adventure. These experiences will debut right around the start of the Disneyland 70th anniversary celebration at the resort.

New Disney California Adventure Show Debuting

The replacement for the just-cancelled Disney Junior theater show at the Disney Theater in Hollywood Land has been announced. The new stage show, called  “Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live!,” is inspired by Disney Jr.'s “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse” series and the upcoming “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse+” coming later this summer. This interactive show will feature upbeat songs and appearances from Disney characters, with younger kids encouraged to dance and sing along.

According to Disney, the premise of the show is that Mickey and Minnie welcome guests to Mickey's house for a party, but Goofy, Daisy, and Pluto haven't arrived yet, so they go look for them, “ultimately uniting everyone for a high-energy finale.”

You can see the concept art for the new experience above! It will debut with the start of the 70th anniversary celebration on May 16, 2025.

Disneyland Returning Entertainment This Spring

Starting May 23, the Pixar Pals Playtime Party from Disneyland's Pixar Fest will be returning to the Fantasyland Theatre in Disneyland Park. This will be a space for families to enjoy interactive games, activities, and photo locations inspired by favorite Pixar films, along with Pixar character appearances and a selection of Pixar shorts on the screen.

Though this isn't a new show, it's better to have something in this area than nothing. After the run of this offering last summer and the holiday version of this area we expected some version of this character party to return for the 70th anniversary.

Starting on the same date, guests can also enjoy the interactive show “Stitch’s Interplanetary Beach Party Blast,” which will return most nights for a limited time at Tomorrowland Terrace in Disneyland Park. This dance-along experience may also feature Goofy, Pluto, Chip ‘n Dale, Clarabelle, and other characters. This brings a fun energy to the Tomorrowland area.
