Disneyland Announces New Rideshare Discount After Permanent Closure of Hotels Shuttle System

Transportation around the Disneyland Resort area has become challenging following the shutdown of the Anaheim Resort Transportation (ART) bus service. The ART buses have been a consistent transportation option for guests staying at local area hotels for decades.

Now that the service has ended, many guests have had to rely on walking, parking, new hotel shuttles, or rideshare services to get to Disneyland from local hotels. There are also new shuttle services. Disneyland is making a new effort to assist with this additional cost, with a limited-time discount just announced. Mickey Visit brings you the latest Disney news and planning resources, including new limited-time summer Disneyland treats and two Disneyland restaurant expansions.

Disneyland Offering New Lyft Discount

The Anaheim Transportation Network (also formerly known as “Anaheim Resort Transportation”) ended services on March 31, 2026, with the shutdown even preceding its official end date as services began winding down. Affectionally called “ART” by many guests, this was a popular transportation option that serviced most of the Disneyland hotels in the area, with transportation to Disneyland among other local venues.

Since the shutdown, there have been a few different shuttle services offered by local hotels to fill the gap. One of these includes a shuttle that services 10 Anaheim-area hotels, with another separate shuttle offering service to our other Anaheim-area hotels.

Rideshare usage has likely increased despite the addition of these new shuttle services, creating ongoing traffic and congestion challenges for Disneyland. The resort is expected to address some of these issues through new transportation and rideshare infrastructure planned as part of the DisneylandForward expansion project.

Disneyland is now offering a new discount to address the increase in rideshare usage for a limited time this summer. Disney is collaborating with Lyft to offer discounts for guests using the rideshare service to get to the resort from the Disneyland Resort Good Neighbor Hotels.

This new promotion offers two different discounts depending on whether you’re a new or existing user:

  • New Lyft users can use the code 50MAGIC to receive 50% off two rides
  • Existing Lyft users can use the code XL10 to receive 10% off one XL ride to the parks

This new rideshare promotion is valid from now through September 8, 2026.

This new discount is a good option for families that may find rideshare to be more cost-effective than paying prices per person for the new hotel shuttles. Rideshare can also be far more convenient as it does not require tracking buses or working within a designated pickup and drop-off time.
