Disneyland Resort‘s holiday season is a massive effort across both theme parks. Some attractions go all-out for the season with overlays including specialty sets, costumes, props, and music. What goes up, though, must come down. Following the conclusion of the holiday season, these rides temporarily close to deinstall the merriment.
A classic Disneyland ride is currently closed, and until now we didn’t know when it would return. Disney just added the reopening date for “it’s a small world” to its operational calendar. At Mickey Visit, we cover the latest Disney news, like Disneyland-area hotels’ shuttle service shutting down and a classic Disney Channel character debuting in the parks.

“it’s a small world” Holiday will return for Disneyland’s next Christmas season, which kicks off November 18, 2026. The regular “it’s a small world” will likely close to prepare for that installation around late October. However, Disney hasn’t announced a specific date yet.
Recent Changes to “it’s a small world”

Disney recently implemented several permanent changes to “it’s a small world.” In spring 2025, Imagineers added Miguel and Dante from Pixar’s Coco to the ride’s Mexico scene. A few months later, Disney added a new verse to the ride’s classic theme song in the attraction’s finale sequence. The late Richard Sherman, one of Walt Disney’s favorite songwriters and co-writer of the original “it’s a small world” song, wrote this verse shortly before his 2024 passing.

Disney introduced both of those changes to “it’s a small world” as part of Disneyland’s 70th anniversary celebration. That being said, the Coco characters and Sherman’s new verse will remain in place beyond the celebration’s conclusion this summer.
