Disneyland Paint the Night Parade Multi-Month Pause Date Announced

Some of Disneyland‘s 70th anniversary entertainment offerings will be pausing to make way for seasonal entertainment, including the fan-favorite Paint the Night parade. While the parade will continue during the Halloween celebration at Disneyland, Disney previously shared that it would be temporarily pausing during the holidays.

Now, we have the pausing date of the Paint the Night parade at Disneyland. Keep reading for more details, other entertainment pausing, and our thoughts on when we expect the parade will return next year…

Disneyland Paint the Night Parade Pause Date

Paint the Night frozen

According to Scott Gustin on X, the Disneyland Paint the Night parade at Disneyland Park will pause for the holidays starting November 10, four days before the kickoff of Christmas at Disneyland on November 14, and resume next year. This pause is to make way for the Christmas Fantasy Parade, which runs during the holiday celebration.

Based on past precedent, we could expect the Paint the Night parade to return sometime in February. Last year, the Magic Happens parade returned on February 2 after the seasonal entertainment. We would not be surprised if the parade returned around the same time or even sooner, given its popularity. We know that the Disneyland 70th anniversary is set to run through the summer of 2026, so the parade will likely still be available for several months after its return.

Main Street Disneyland Fireworks

The Wondrous Journeys fireworks, “The Celebrate Happy Cavalcade,” and the “Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration!” parade are all pausing for the Halloween celebration. The Pixar Pals parade recently ended its run, and the fireworks and cavalcade will have their last showings on August 21, the day before the kickoff of Halloween. We are assuming that, by their omission in Disneyland's Christmas announcements, these offerings will also be unavailable during the holidays. We do not yet know when these entertainment offerings will return. Last year, Mickey's Mix Magic fireworks show picked up right after the end of the holiday celebration on January 8.

While select 70th anniversary entertainment will pause, certain in-park experiences, like select 70th anniversary decor, MagicBand+ interaction points, and the Key to Disneyland scavenger hunt experience will still be available. We also know that the new 70th anniversary World of Color Happiness! show will continue to run during the holiday celebration instead of the usual World of Color – Season of Light holiday show that typically runs during this time of year.

  1. We arrive Nov 9th and we were really hoping to see Paint the Night. Is there any word on World of Color? I was planning on purchasing the dessert party to see it. This is our first trip to Disneyland and we had really hoped to see the special 70th anniversary entertainment
